Amazing pizzas, probably one of the best ones I've ever had in London (and I've tried lots). I went to Pilgrims before but didn't like it as much as this time, perhaps because they changed the menu and the variety of pizzas they have now are brilliant! A big variety, for all tastes. I ordered 8 cheese, and my friend ordered mushrooms and truffle. We both loved them. As you probably know, the issue is that the tables are too close to each other, that it feels I'm eating with the other people next to us. You can't book a table, but the queue went super quick, and it was Saturday night! I highly recommend it.

Been here a couple of times and loved the pizzas each time. We have tried the Margherita, 8-cheese, and Burrata cheese pizzas. We loved the outdoor seating in Kingly Court - has a beautiful vibe to the place. Indoor seating felt a little crammed. Didn’t wait too long to get a seat and service was quick each time. Highly recommend!

Excellent pizza, good service. Quick. Relatively small feeling venue with tables very close together. If you are looking for a quick bite, this is a great choice. I would go back. The double pepperoni with hot honey was the perfect amount of heat.

Seated quickly! Served us quickly and thoroughly! Cala was Very polite and kind, asked if we had allergies etc. pleasant atmosphere, a little snug but part of the vibe.

Great reastaurant in a great locale. The pizza is a great combination of traditional but with a modern and creative twist. The idea to have a dip for the crust is also very welcome, and as a person who usually avoids the crust, it adds to the enjoyment. Overall, everything was great, the pizza was very tasty and overall a good price too.

Absolutely amazing experience at Pizza Pilgrims. We decided to go here spontaneously and the pizzas were just so so good. The drinks we ordered were very refreshing though the espresso martinis could have been more sweet and less watery. Other than that the service was super friendly and helpful. Will definitely come back!

Pizza Pilgrims is located in the heart of Soho in London. The restaurant presents itself as the best offer of genuine Italian pizza. If you are a pizza lover, you will definitely enjoy their offer. However, the atmosphere of the restaurant is not relaxing and you can feel the city tension and crowds. The staff is fast and accommodating, but due to the crowds, they are not top-notch friendly. I had a feeling that they were on the edge of patience with a frozen smile. All in all, the service is good to some extent, and the pizza is excellent.

Highly recommended for location (right in Kingly Court - which is well worth a visit especially after office hours when it’s buzzing).
The pizza is really good, especially the pepperoni with chilli honey, the Nduja is great too).
Service is really quick even when busy. The pricing is pretty competitive too, especially for central London with pizzas priced from £10-12.
Finally, this is proper Italian pizza dough cooked quickly and on high heat so you get that delicious bubbling in the crust. Highly recommended.

Wow, the best pizza so far in the UK. Am here on biz trip and happened to walk past this pizza joint. I don’t know what they’ve done with the pizza, but god what was this Margarita double delicious. Crust, ingredients, just perfect. Thanks Luigi for the service!

We visited PIZZA PILGRIMS this afternoon while we were on our day out in London . We were very quickly seated.
Our waitress/hostess Lucia was absolutely amazing!!! She is such an asset to your business. She was just perfect , very attentive and very professional. It was our little girl’s birthday and she really made her day !
The pizzas were absolutely delicious.

Ignore the hype and social media...singlehandedly one of the best pizzas ever. Ordered Napoli Salami, Mushroom & Truffle and Pesto & Burrata. All EXCELLENT! Otherwise avoid gimmicky Deep Fried Mac & Cheese and tasteless Carciofi Fritti.

One of the best pizza i’ve had. Awesome service and fast too! The pizza was amazing, soft dough and the sauce is amazing, sweet and perfect.

I ordered the pizza salami and added to it portobello mushroom with truffle oil, and it was a signature! The pizza was crusty and so tasty 😋

As usual, I am being particularly felicitous. Although such words appear in my head when I think of the word “pilgrim”, it actually describes a far more noble purpose. It is a long journey on a quest, in search of an elusive goal. In this case, no doubt it was in search of the perfect pizza. So how did this endeavour compare to its name?

we're wondering across Oxford street and asked some passers about a nice pizza place and everyone suggested Pilgrims . went there without hesitations , and found that little cozy lace so vibrant and full of people . Simplicity in their menu saves you a lot of time but the taste will move your buds . the crust is an ultimate pleasure and ingredients are fresh from the source to your dish ... service is good and prices are very affordable .

The wait can be so long. But it is definitely worth it.
Their pizza proves that perfection can be found in simplicity

What we ate:

Deep fried italian Mac'nCheese * was a bit dry*

Margherita with buffalo mozzarella * tastey *

Portobello mushroom & truffle * a must*

Arugula salad

Simply mouth-watering!!

Great pizza! Perfect base and just the right amount of topping. Typical Neapolitan pizza.Well priced for the area, can highly recommend to anyone in the area.

Portobello mushroom güzeldi. Tavsiye ederim. Margarita pizza zayıf kalıyor. Hamur taze karılıyor. Alt mutfakta gördüm. Ortam hijyeni iyi. Bahçe masasını tercih edin

Great place for a good old minimalist pizza. It's all about the ingredients and they are tasty!! The crust is not too thick, which is a good thing for me.
But the cherry on top of the cake is the nutella twist dessert. Amazing for sharing!!
Eat Like Ushi
I actually had a bit of difficulty finding this place. But the allure of a 20" pizza all to myself from (yet another) recently converted food van made the searching worth it. I had a half-half - Pork belly, chimichurri, smoked onions vs. Caprese, bone marrow with spring onion & watercress. The base is thin and crisp and the pizza toppings are unusual (to say the least) but nice and creative.

One of the best pizzerias I've had within London YET!

It gives off a very open and friendly environment almost like you're in a local traditional village where everyone's welcome to come in and dine good quality food for cheap prices (bringing everyone together) having said this it's not always stuffy~ maybe because of the location since you've got so many meaty options next door?

Otherwise I definitely recommend this place! ++ staff are absolutely friendly and cute 😛

If you want to have Pizza this restaurant is a Good choice. Next to Oxford circus with good price and good quality. All the pizzas are made with fresh pasta.
The kitchen is open to everyone.

Absolutely fabulous!!! One of the best pizzas I have had in london! Very casual not stuffy at all.
Classic margarita was exceptional and so was the mushroom pizza. Defiantly a must try

Not too long ago my friend & I went for dinner and a show in the West end. I’d been dying to see Book of Mormon for quite a while, but the crude humour would have to wait as our bellies were rumbling. I’m sure you’ll have heard of Pizza pilgrims by now, but I’ll give you a little background.
Miho @ Wander To Wonder
Let's backtrack. At the end of August, a few of us pizza enthusiasts were gathered by Zomato at Pizza Pilgrims in Kingly Court for one very important, potentially life-changing mission: judge a selection of pizzas created by the chefs at PP, and crown one as the winner and October special. The X Factor of the pizza world, if you will.
Angela Sam
Pizza has a reputation for being a crowd pleaser, popular choice for parties and group dinners. Almost everyone loves a pizza.

However, not all pizzas are created equal. It takes skills, imagination and good taste buds to make a good pizza. Pizza Pilgrims in my opinion, ticks all the right boxes!

A group of us, through Zomato, had the privilege to pick the pizza of the month for Pizza Pilgrim. We were declared "Pizza Gods" for the evening, on the holy crusade of sampling, critiquing and choosing a winning pizza, all for the greater good of the pizza-loving population.

This exciting experience started with a couple of rounds of drinks and an interactive introduction by the King of Pizza himself James Elliot, co-founder of Pizza Pilgrims. James gave us a bit of background on how the humble mobile pizza van became one of the biggest names amongst pizza lovers in London.

I have been a fan of this Napoli-inspired pizzeria since I had my first slice in their Dean Street branch. Apart from its pizza perfection, their hand-stretch dough also makes one of my favourite desserts of all time - the Nutella + salted ricotta ring!

Back to the pizza selection - we were presented with 5 unique creation by 5 of James' pizza chefs. Here they are, in order of my preference:

Zucca, I am your father (by Fabio)

- Pumpkin puree base, rosemary, provola & pancetta

The Mellow Yellow (by Dario)
- Ricotta infused with saffron, fried courgettes, provola & Parmesan bread crumbs.

Sausage & Mash (By Alessio)

- Sausage & Mash Pizza White pizza with Italian fennel salsiccia, onion & porcini gravy, mashed potato, basil & parmesan

Bumblebee-Tuna (by Giada)

- Margherita with tuna, sweetcorn, black olives, sliced red onion, parmesan & basil

The P.L.T. (by Matteo)

- White pizza with provola & porchetta, dressed with fresh romaine lettuce and sliced beef tomatoes

It's not everyday that you get to have a discussion with pizza experts about what you thought if their pizza, which ingredients you prefer and how to improve the recipes. This, for me was what made this Zomato event so great!

James welcomed our feedback and you could tell the depth of his pizza knowledge and experience just by listening to the suggestions he made and ideas he came up with.

Towards the end of the evening, we had to vote. And the voting was unanimous. Zucca, I Am Your Father was crowned Pizza of the month. The combination of the sweet pumpkin puree base, the herby rosemary and the saltiness of the meaty pancetta won us over! And because its main ingredient being the pumpkin, we thought it's best suited for October.

So there you have it folks - the very unusual pumpkin pizza - Zucca, I Am Your Father is now available at Pizza Pilgrims. Check it out and see what you think!
The Girl Next Shore
So the folks at Zomato invited a few pizza-loving bloggers to do a rather serious job at Pizza Pilgrims in Kingly Court; as "Pizza Gods", we had to judge five of their chefs' creations and choose which one gets to be their Guest Pizza of the Month. Tough job, aye?. Our host for the night was James Elliot, 1/2 of the tandem behind PP. He and his bro Thom went on an Italian pilgrimage in 2011 (in an Ape van which was also their portable pizza oven), sourcing the best ways to bring good Neapolitan pizza to us Londoners. Years later, the bros have released a book, aired a TV series, and embedded two shops in Soho. Imagine that.

The pizza is tasty and reasonably priced (my Italian husband said pizza shouldn't cost more than £10! So this place ticked the box). We also had the arancini and got free limoncello so definitely like this place! And they have seating outside which is lovely when the weather is nice....
Lustevie Evie
with l'oro di Napoli (Ealing) it is for real the best pizza I had in London!! such a great taste!! also the price is awesome! honestly this is a lil gem in soho though!

I love pizza. Like, I loooooove pizza. Hence Pizza Pilgrims has been high on my hit-list for some time. However, every time I fancy pizza I shame-fully/lessly find myself returning to Homeslice. But, having reviewed Franco Manca, it really was about time that I paid Pizza Pilgrims a visit too. So imagine my complete & utter elation when an invite from Zomato popped into my Inbox, inviting me to be a #PizzaGod for an evening (a title that I’ve become rather attached to), and assist in the tough challenge of picking Pizza Pilgrim’s October Pizza of the Month.
SamTheFoodFan
I remember where I was when I had my very first taste of Pizza Pilgrims, I was at a music festival and they were still serving pizzas out of their little green Piaggio Ape van. I even remember what pizza it was – my favourite – a Margherita. Simplicity at its best. Quality ingredients with a gorgeously thin and crispy crust. It was pretty epic! Since then the two brothers James and Thom, have gone on to open restaurants in Soho and Carnaby Street. So when the lovely people at Zomato invited me to attend one of their #ZomatoMeetUp’s to help choose the Pizza Pilgrims pizza of the month (to appear on their restaurant menus), it was a pretty instantaneous ‘yes please’ from me!
Currycular
Nduja Nduja Nduja! I'll go to Pizza Pilgrims again just to have this succulent and hot pizza again. This is funny coming from me because I am not much of a pork person. It's not for everyone, and especially not for those who love their pizzas with loads of cheese and tomato ketchup.

If you are keen to eat here, make sure you are ready to wait or ensure that you go in a large group (they only do reservations for large groups). Waiting periods can range from 5 minutes to 45 minutes (probably longer; 45 minutes is the longest I have waited). TIP: try to turn up by 7:00 PM to get a table quicker.

The service team is helpful and cheerful.

One thing I don't like about them - the wine is served in water glasses. A bit tacky for me. One service staff passed it off as "part of the ambiance". They should get quirky glasses if they really want glasses to "go with the ambiance".

Great atmosphere outside in the Kingly Court square. Want to try the downstairs seating, which looks good, especially if you want some music going. They were playing some sappy music the last time though.

All in all, go for the food and the atmosphere.

I'm going to go ahead and say something potentially offensive. I don't like pizza. I wanted to get the apology in early as I know how strongly people feel about pizza. But I just don't get it. I love bread, I adore cheese but pizza - meh, not so much. Don't get me wrong, I'll eat it..hell I've even done a pizza making class and enjoyed it - I just wouldn't chose it if given a menu, and I definitely wouldn't chose to go somewhere with pizza in the name.

Now there's nothing I like more than a good slice of pizza - or two - except when it comes with a side of bloggers and being called a Pizza God. Oh yes, for an evening I was a Pizza God at Pizza Pilgrims, Kingly Court with Zomato and a host of other lovely bloggers to pick their pizza of the month for October.
Lauren Hudson
A great pizza restaurant in Kingly Court (which is a beautiful setting) that guarantees you a good night. The pizza bases are fantastic - some of the best I've had in London - and the service is just as good. Go in October and order their pizza of the month - it's delicious! Also, the Nutella pizza is just as delicious as it sounds - especially when served with a glass of the house limoncello.

A must visit for a great casual dinner!

Excellent place for a lunch time pizza. Good atmosphere with nice and attentive staff. This location also has an open kitchen which is usually a good sign ! The speciality is white pizza (no tomato sauce) and I think you will be enjoy.

They also serve Moretti by the bottle, the best Italian beer.

Perfect for a spot of lunch to break up a busy shopping day, the Aubergine Parmigana was delicious 👌🏼 great value too, which is always a bonus!

The hype is right, these are great pizzas. You can taste the way they're cooked and it tastes like passion.

I opted for the simple margarita and I was not disappointed, it does the job and satisfies the craving.

The dough soaks the topping up so you're just eating pure flavour with no added bread remnants.

Definitely returning more than once and will be eating all I can. Legit great pizza.

Try the arancini, they are delicious and have peas! Who knew it would work so well.
Hannah Kacary | That Adventurer
I@m surprised Pizza Pilgrims doesn't have the same hype surrounding it as Franca Manca does. Both pizzas are equally as good and similar in price.

Pizza Pilgrims has by far the better side options (the arancini are delicious!) and the setting in Kingly Court is beautiful.

If you like your pizza dough stretchy, thin and crispy then Pizza Pilgrims is the place to go!

Pizza Pilgrims turned out to be better than I expected, the pizzas are skilfully done with some well sourced ingredients.

Because.....well, I think I now like pizza. (note to self: stop using the word pizza!)

Anywho, I was dragged along to Pizza Pilgrims on my friend's behest as the restaurant we'd orginally planned to go to was full. I was fully prepared to be all apathetic about it, but I bloody loved it!

The pizzas are nice and thin, and loaded with toppings (i went for Aubergine and extra chilli). I can get onboard with these pizzas- I imagine this is how the italians do it and we know their the pros. Plus they serve Moretti, anywhere where there is moretti is a good place in my eyes.

So Big thumbs up from me, well done Pizza Pilgrim's you've made me a new pizza fan.

What was once a three-wheeled mobile food truck dealing fresh-out-of-the-oven pizza is now a fully fledged established chain with permanent branches in Dean Street and more recently Kingly Court, in addition to their usual street-food presence. In the process, they have undoubtably become one of the success stories of the trader to brick-and-mortar movement, providing footsteps for others to follow. This is the story of Pizza Pilgrams.

First coming across these guys at a local market in 2012, I was immediately drawn to their offer of fresh wood-fire pizza topped with the very best ingredients; a concept which at the time was nowhere near the popularity it is now. The aroma from the cooking process was intoxicating and made the wait seem like an eternity. But the taste was something else - I remember at the time, it was the best I'd had in London; restaurant or otherwise; and though the pizza game has been lifted in recent times, Pizza Pilgrims still retain their place in the upper echelon.

With a menu of no less than 10 pizzas, for me the margherita still reigns supreme and is the best to show off Pizza Pilgrims at their very best; dough so fresh and springy you would expect it to bounce and topped with nothing more than a carefully crafted tomato paste and selected cheese. Add a swirl of chilli oil and that's a meal done and dusted with change for a tenner.

However, to neglect the Nutella and salted ricotta pizza ring would be criminal and any wise diner would order this as part of a main. It is a dessert worth a pilgrimage for and one I've made a few times myself. Freshly baked pizza dough, lathered in Nutella and ricotta then rolled into a tube before being baked to perfection; heaven.

For any pizza lover, this is a must buy chances are, you already know that. If you haven't been yet, change that today. Enjoy!

Also follow me on Twitter @annixontong and @wetrykai and on Instagram @annixontong.

Wrap Your Lips Around This
So I wrote a little review for Pizza Pilgrims a few weeks ago which was not as positive as the owners might have hoped for.

A few minutes walk from Oxford Street, Pizza Pilgrims second location is in the lovely surroundings of Kingly Court, nestled between Carnaby Street and Regents Street. I’ve been a fan of their product since before they had bricks and mortar and the quality of their product hasn’t changed. This is pizza that would make even a hardened Neapolitan mafioso sob and think of the Amalfi coast. Light, chewy dough with a wonderful charry kiss from the red-hot oven. The toppings are simple and focussed – there’s no hot-dog stuffed crust or salad-in-the-middle options here. The new locatio

I loved Pizza Pilgrims’ first bricks and mortar restaurant in Soho. Before that they used to sell their Neapolitan inspired pizzas out of a tiny van with an oven on the back. So when I heard they were opening another one, a ‘Friggitoria’ in fact (I’m still none the wiser how you pronounce it), I was rather excited. It’s based in Kingly Court in the tourist haven of Carnaby Street and as expected the place was pretty rammed so we were seated at a large shared table. It’s a big space with lots of nooks and crannies; there’s an open kitchen, a downstairs bar, outside seating and two entrances meaning people are constantly wandering in and out. The pizzas, we ordered the margherita (£6.50), Napoli salami (£9) and the Carbonara (£10), were unsurprisingly delicious. I’m talking SO delicious though, I think you’d be hard pushed to find better pizzas in London. The Carbonara even had an egg yolk in the middle which added to the creaminess of it all. Slightly less impressive however were the de

Pizza Pilgrim 2 really stuck to their stuff of making traditional Neapolitan sourdough pizza, using quality ingredients in and around Naples. I prefer the space in Kingly Court compared to the basement seating in Dean Street, and there are more to sample with the Frigittoria, but the two joints are equally good. I’ll be coming back for the deep-fried calzone.

What I wanted was pizza, and while the local Italian gaff in Walworth was closed - thwarting me for the second time and dashing my hopes for an Americana topped with homemade chips and sausage – Pizza Pilgrims (fairly) new second branch stepped in to satiate my need (with the potential for cupcakes from the recently opened Crumbs and Doilies next door proving somewhat of an added bonus).

It's clearly no secret that I love a good pizza. From what I claim to be the best pizza I've ever tried in Lake Como, a surprising find in Vienna, a truly Italian experience in Wimbledon, to the very popular Franco Manca, I've shared my thoughts on quite a few. And I'm still yet to blog about my local Santa Maria which is revered by many Italians!

But today, it's all about Pizza Pilgrims.

When Alexandra told me that she thought PP was better than Franco Manca, I knew I had to try it and see if she was right. E and I both love FM - their sourdough base is delicious, and their prices are pretty unbeatable at under £7 a pizza.

So off I went to the Pizza Pilgrims in Kingly Court, with a lovely school friend who's been living abroad for 10 years and is now back in London - no better excuse to go out for a pizza in my opinion!

It was an early dinner, at around 6pm, but it was already pretty full and we sat outside (although it's a covered/closed off area inside the courtyard so not too cold, thankfully), and our pizzas of choice arrived in no time.

T went for the Nduja (Margherita with spicy Calabrian spicy sausage) and I, of course, went for the white pizza - Salsiccia e Fiarielli (White pizza with fresh fennel sausage, chilli, wild broccoli, fior di latte, parmesan, basil, olive oil). I find it mildly amusing that my favourite kind of pizza gets rids of the only healthy part... but I digress.

So, what's my verdict? It actually is better than Franco Manca. I can't put my finger on it exactly, but I think their base is even doughier and dreamier, and I just found the whole thing a little more flavourful. However, it is significantly more expensive (the white pizza at PP is £10, at FM it's £6.85), which I think kind of even things out a little bit.

Regardless of my subjective views, you really can't go wrong if you go to either place for that Neapolitan sourdough goodness. I just think Pizza Pilgrims is just a little nudge above the rest.

This outlet gets a 2.5 from me I went here a couple of days after I went to the other one. The Dean St outlet is quite small whereas this one has more seating + some outdoor seating too. Also, I love Kingly Court and the atmosphere there. So yeah, given that they launched this one after the success of the first outlet, I thought it was going to be even better. Sorely disappointed though. The girl serving us was lovely and perhaps they were quite understaffed – but 20 minutes to get the menu, 45 minutes to get the food and another 25 minutes to get the cheque is a bit much given that the people sitting next to us came much later and had quicker service. They were leaving by the time we were just about halfway through our meal. Went for the Napoli style pizza this time and it was soggy, not enough cheese or tomato on it. Also, the music was very loud and I had to raise my voice to be heard, which is really saying something given how loud I am. I hope they make some changes to live up to their name!
Ingrid Oe
There is a pizza problem in this city. I've been told by many that pizza pilgrim is one of the best places for pizza in London, next to Franco Manca, and if this is true then there is very little hope to get a decent pizza in London.

The sourdough is good, but it's not very crispy and with a very watery tomato base it turns into a very soft and gooey mess in the middle. With cheese, though.

The taste is alright, but I wish the tomato base had more flavour to it.

This particular outlet of pizza pilgrim had extremely loud music, it made it hard to have a conversation. We were luckily in a hurry so we didn't have to sit there too long.

Friendly staff!

Ahead of a bar launch, Natalie and I decided to check out the new Pizza Pilgrims Pizzeria & Friggitoria in Kingly Court, already being very familiar with their Neapolitan pizzas from street food events and their Dean Street home.

I won't go in to too much detail, as you can read about their original pizzeria on my blog, but I will mention a few new things. Firstly, space! They have lots of it, including plenty outdoors in Kingly Court and also downstairs, where there is a full-on Super Mario mural. An arcade machine (supposedly Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) is soon to be added there too.

Coffee. They have a separate little coffee outpost next to the pizzeria with their friends at Terrone Coffee Roasters, who run a popular stall at Netil Market. The Terrone owner, Edy Piro hails from just outside Naples, so that's all good.

Booze. Collaborating with Chase Distillery, they have crafted Sohocello, their own take on Limoncello with Luigi Aceto’s Amalfi lemons & Chase English potato spirit. They have also sensibly sourced some exciting Italian beers from Birra del Borgo, a brilliant brewery. It's about time Londoners knew that Italians make more than just Peroni.

Friggitoria. Not content with nailing the art of pizza, they have turned their hands to frying, including Pizza Fritta (mini deep-fried calzones), Carciofi Fritti (deep fried artichoke hearts with rosemary salt) and best of all Frittatine di Maccheroni (macaroni cakes with parmesan, ragu & buffalo mozzarella).

I did manage a bit of food after my epic lunch. We shared a Salsiccia & Friarelli pizza (Bianca base, fresh fennel sausage, wild broccoli, parmesan, basil, olive oil time- hard not to order this one every time) and a cup of those fried macaroni cakes. I'm happy to report that the pizzas are still of the highest quality even though James & Thom are spreading themselves thinner with two sites and various street food commitments. And the Frittatine di Maccheroni were everything I hoped for, and oh so healthy.

It's good to see them expanding, especially as now there's space for everyone. Kingly Court is clearly the place to be, with fun foodie neighbours like Stax, Rum Kitchen, and Wright Brothers already settled. Senor Ceviche is the next arrival on the horizon.

I went we some friends in this branch because I love the pizza that they make in soho and I love kingly court I think that the atmosphere during the summer evening is nice and the goody court that has been create is really cool.
The pizza was good and this Friggettoria is really yummy , but my prefer branch is still in soho

Newly opened and when I first went I was totally ignored to start. Staff just looking and no one was approachable and I was just left standing and staring. Given the restaurant was almost empty I found this strange and decided to walk out when finally someone came up to me. Luckily this member of staff was good and I ordered a take away from the limited menu. The pizza arrived very quickly but strangly you are asked to wait outside for your pizza. Another quirk was the pizza was very runny. Never experienced a runny pizza ever before. But thankfully the taste was what is important and it does not let you down on this front. Fresh ingredients and am authentic taste which I was pleasently surprised. Just need to work on the staff training and try to make the pizza less watery and they might be into a winner. Cost wise it was modest and worth the take away for sure.
