Nice little branch on the main road not far from Angel station. The staff on entry seemed a little of there feet even though restaurant was empty. We got a table after asking one of the staff members for a table. The menu is easy to read, decent vegan/veg selection. I ordered one of the vegan Truffle burgers with upgraded sweet potato chips, also a Oreo milkshake. The milkshake was Meh! Burger and chips came soon after, the patty was really nice, the burger had good amount of salad and sauce. The sweet potato chips were very good also. The atmosphere in the restaurant was nice, staff were attentive.
Enjoyed the meal, will deffo try again.

Stunning burger joint - AND they're happy to make it Rare đł
Also can make it "skinny" and get a lovely side salad instead of the usual pucks of yukky gluten đđŒ
Best burger I've eaten in .... well for as long as I can remember đ
Other must adds are the Courgette and Sweet Potato fries

Nice and tasty burgers and very friendly personal. A little more expensive than five guys at kings cross but much better ambient.

Yummy food! The service was great. Will definitely return. The halloumi fries were really yummy too.

Very nice byron burger, their hot sauce is very good as well and chips were tasty too. Service was very good. Seasonal rum and ginger cocktail was good.

Burgers and service as expected, the decor is appalling. The place looks like a construction site in an old country house. Every where you look you see something broken or unfinished. Good choice of microbrews.

I didn't try their burgers here but they are usually excellent anywhere I've been. I quite like the trendy cute small space this one has, seems very appropriate for Angel. I ordered a triple chocolate milkshake, and it was luxuriously thick and delicious. You'd have to try very hard not to have it more than once a week!

Burgers were great and Cecilia was amazing. Smiling, helpful, she even opened the door for us when we left. We did not expect it in a burger place. Well done! Thank you for our lovely experience. It was the first time here and we will return

Good cheese burger, flavorful with a juicy patty. Ingredients were fresh. Only improvement for me would be to toast the bun a bit more to make it crunchier... But that's a personal preference.
Service was attentive and friendly.
Definitely worth visiting if you want a good burger.

Food is your standard Byron fare - reliable burgers etc. This venue was busy when we arrived but we were sat promptly and ordered fairly quickly. Food arrived very rapidly which was a pleasant surprise.
Unfortunately we were left abandoned for 20 minutes with dirty plates and unable to ask for the bill. I understand as it was busy, but we had to go to the bar to pay.

Great friendly staff. Byron burger. Juicy meaty burger. With bacon and a yummy sauce

I've been here a lot in the past 6mo and never had a bad burger. The monthly specials are usually pretty good and not your gimmicky type but well thought out. Staff have always been friendly and service is fast at lunch. The decor is very raw but it kinda works and doesn't feel dirty or gross.
Sue_qayed
Had their Grill chicken sandwich which was yummy with nice sauce, my party had fried chicken and the classic burger and they were so happy with it. This branch is big and clean with great service

Love loveeeee the burgers!!! Sooo good and crunchy. Their meat is so fresh and good, I preferred the chicken one tho since it was soooo crunchy. Really good goood. Recommended.

Hands down the BEST Oreo shake of my life. You MUST TRY it!
It's thick, it's chilled, it's creamy and cookie like but it's such a large glass that it's probably all you'll need for lunch. Besides it's a lot on the calorie count but the heart wants what it wantsâ€ïž

Nice place, where you can get a decent burger in a not-to-pretencious atmosphere. The fried courgette is a nice touch, as is the presentation of the burger.

My fav burger place in London. service is always good with very energetic and lovely people there. fries are great too and the beer selection.

This place is always very busy but usually you don't wait for too long to get a table. The interior it's nice it seems the place it is still under construction. The burgers are pretty decent with sides and a beer you don't pay more than 15ÂŁ per head. The service is very efficient and friendly making Byron as a very good option for meat lovers around Angel

It was a fast-food burger made with good-quality ingredients. I was one happy camper.

Among the many Byron's joint around London, this one, located in Angel, is my favourite for the shabby ambience and the lovely staff. It gives a nice summertime and friends-out-time that would switch the mood to be absolutely on the fun side in no time. On top of that, you end up eating one of the best burgers in town. Juicy, tender and flavourful, with a good amount of options to choose from plus an ever changing seasonal that promises to be fingers liking. And Courgettes fritters. And milkshakes and desserts that will ask you to find a bit of space even if you have none left. As you can guess, I'm highly satisfied with everything they have to offer and keep going back for more.
Kingy
Shabby chic chain of restaurants (also one near Spitalfields, Camden, central and tons more) selling top quality burgers. They are around ÂŁ8-11 each and you can order what you want on the side. They also have great shakes!

Hit the spot. I had been to other branches of Byron but that was the first time at the Angel restaurant. Me and a friend went there on a Thursday eve for a quick bite and he was particularly impressed by the 'unfinished look' decor (eg. bare brick walls, light bulbs hanging from just wires), I guess that saves on decorating! Back to the food, we both had the classic burger with the side of skin-on fries, decent size portions, not too big not to small, def hit the spot. The bill was just over ÂŁ20 including drinks. Word of advice: get there early-sh, we got there at 7.30 and had the last table available, lucky us! After that there was a waiting queue of at least 10 people.

Best. Burger. Ever. London.. Ok, so saying this is the best burger I have EVER had is really putting it out there, but the Byron burger is definitely up there as one of the best, so much so that in my short 6 weeks in London, I have found myself here 3 times which is generally against my belly filling adventure to visit the same place more than twice in such close succession. I know it's time to stop, but it's like a drug.

I am an avid burger fan, so already had high expectations after hearing about Byron from a friend. And every time I go, the standard is held and I'm never disappointed. I love the décor, the staff are generally really friendly and helpful, and it just has a fun vibe.

Now the food. Always the cheeseburger for me (as there is no such thing as a burger without cheese), it is cooked to perfection (medium rare) with the right amount of everything. I don't know what makes their burgers so good - they just are.

On top of this, the sides are out of this world - I would go here just for the slaw and mac cheese!

So I will stop gushing now, but Byron is amazing. Best served when severely hungover! Makes the perfect cure!

Best burger and onion rings I have ever had. Seriously... Can't wait to go back!
Foodlondon
Ok but. Like the decor in the restaurant.
The Byron burger is not bad and the fries are nice.

HOWEVER for the price its almost a joke for what you get. Either they should make the portions bigger or lower the price. No way that is the value for money for what you get compare to other joints.

The best Burger serived in 15mins!. I went to Byron last night to get quick bit. We only had 30mins to eat and go. The service was very quick and friendly. The food arraived on the table after 15mins when I ordered . The Burger was midium rare, nice and soft. The best burger I'd ever had. Chips are perfect as well. Two burgers+two drinks+ one chips=around ÂŁ28! Good value !
Highly recommend!

Best burgers around, friendly service. Shame about the faux rustic decor but that's just me! Five stars for a decent burger that's good value too

Best burger in London... but we miss the banoffee pie! Bring it back Byron!

Excellent burgers; friendly and fast service; great atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit.

One tasty burger. I've had my ear bent about Byron Burger for a while now and finally managed to pay a visit to their new branch in Upper Street last night. Even though they had been open a week, the lighting still hung like left over christmas decorations and directions to the toilet were marked in a felt pen on the wall but the food, was, GREAT.
The burgers are all cooked medium unless you choose otherwise. I had a Byron burger which comes with bacon, cheddar and a Byron sauce. Whilst the Byron sauce was a little bland for my taste, there were plenty of other options on our table to help me liven it up. Most importantly, the meat was marvellous.
The courgette fries were a delicious crisp dry affair - no mean feat when you consider this vegetable can end up disappointingly damp in the wrong hands. The french fries were good as well though I have to admit to a little menu envy as I watched the skin on chips making their way to other tables.. next time.
They have some interesting international beer options all of which are served with a cold glass which is a nice touch but you really have to try their milkshakes. It was a real pleasure to have chunks of what tasted like actual biscuit punctuating the oreo cookie version of this sweet delight.
Service was friendly and efficient and at the end of the meal, they even paid for our drinks as part of a promotional special offer! Result. I will definitely be going back.

This is the first Byron Iâve been to. The run down decor is a bit annoying, I donât know why itâs cool to eat next to crumbling brickwork and insulation foam but apart from that first impressions are good. Itâs not the best burger youâll have and the menu may be too narrow for some people but Byron arenât trying to push the boundaries, itâs all about simple, good burgers and theyâre doing it well.

While I was out and about exploring London, I saw this burger chain called Byron Burger often enough to pique my interest. I looked it up online and found mixed reviews. Funnily enough, the most negative reviews were focused solely on the decor - people strongly disliked the intentionally rundown interiors. I decided to see for myself. I visited the Angel branch of the chain and to be honest, I thought the interiors looked like any number of cafes in Sydney. Isn't rundown the new chic? The menu is fairly short and you choose your burger, sides and dessert. Oh, and milkshakes of course. Everything comes separately - I don't think they do meal combos. I ordered the Oreo milkshake and my friend had the Vanilla. Both milkshakes were huge and I couldn't finish mine, despite desperately sucking as much as I could through the wide straw. Oreo and Vanilla milkshake (£4.25 each) All of their meat patties are made with freshly ground beef from Scotland and is usually cooked medium. I dec

The food was fantastic, the service was speedy and the bill only came to ÂŁ25 so all in all it was a great meal. The only criticism I have is with the decor. It's taking distressed to a whole new level, as Chris described it the first time we went 'it's like dining in Chernobyl'. Maybe I'm just not enough of a hipster to understand the appeal, but to me it just looks awful. I can't work out if they just striped the building and ran out of money before they could decorate it or whether the 'look' was a conscious decision. I hope it was the former, as paying an interior designer to ruin such a lovely building is absurd. The chairs are rickety and uncomfortable and it just isn't a very nice environment to eat in. However, there are plenty of other branches around town done up in a more conventional way; I'll definitely eat at Byron again, but probably not at the Islington branch.

Like many Londoners, I seem to have been overcome by the desire to find the "perfect burger". For me, this largely involves compiling a mental list of the things a good burger must include
Come Con Ella
byron proper hamburgers say 'why have a dry, dull hamburger' when you can have one that is 'cooked medium' and 'cooked pink'. now i know that none of us would willingly eat a dry hamburger but sadly finding the perfect hamburger in london has been an ardu

It was some stuck up local denizens that turned me on to Byron. We were on Upper Street with 55 minutes until 'Get Him To The Greek' began (don't bother) and looking for fast food fast. Following these basted turkeys trussed

Since returning from our mini stopover in New York back in March, we seemed not to have eaten a burger, and now I was beginning to have a craving for one or two. As I noticed in New York, people there eat burgers probably two or three times a week, mainly

âByronâ reads the paint stripped façade. I was like âwhat theâŠâ when I first saw it. The entire place looks as if the renovation contractor decided to go on strike with the job half done.

Byron is located in quite a few areas in London. There are about more than 20 byron joints in London.I have been to the one in Islington and Oxford Circus.
The interiors of Byron is very very simple yet it catches your attention. The one in Islington has bare walls without paint and the furniture consists of old metal chairs which gives a very rugged and causal feel to the place. I just love it.
The burgers at Byron are in my list of the best burgers in London. It is not the best but one of the best burger places in London.I would recommend the Chilli Burger and the Cheese Burger. The COURGETTE FRIES are really tasty and maybe the best I have had .
The service is quite decent and the staff is friendly.

Byron has a great atmosphere, it's a good place to have a burger and a beer with people. The service is great and the waiters are really friendly, and it's located in a perfect spot on upper street.

The food; however, I thought could have been better. The burgers are quite tasty but I felt like the paddies could be more tasty. I got the Smoky burger which sounded amazing but none of the ingredients had that much flavor. The cheddar didn't at all stand out in the burger and the chili BBQ sauce which sounded amazing on the menu was really not that tasty.

Maybe I'll change my mind when I visit Shake Shack and Five Guys, but for now, Byron is hands down my favorite place to grab a decent, uncomplicated burger, accompanied by my favorite American drink of choice, A&W root beer (A&W cream soda takes a close second). My qualm with other burger joints is that they try to do too much - I've been to Meatliquor and Dirty Burger and I've not been impressed. Sometimes, burgers don't need 'dead hippie sauce' or artisanal buns piled so high that you have to eat the burger with a knife and fork (my pet peeve). Sometimes I just crave a decent burger with no fuss - maybe a slice of melted cheese. And Byron always delivers.

It's not THE most enjoyable place to have a sit-down dinner, but it is a fast food joint after all. Service can sometimes be a bit meh, but as long as I have a burger, fries, and a root beer, I'm happy.

Oh - and I always, always ask for extra pickles. I'm American, after all.

Excuse me for one moment while I tear Byron's veggie burger a new one. I went with friends, who both chose meat and when the food arrived, I looked dejectedly down at my burger which, instead of having a delicious veggie patty inside it, just had - yep, you got it - actual vegetables. Now, just because you don't eat meat does not mean that you do not want a dirty, unhealthy time with a burger. Everyone wants a dirty, unhealthy time with a burger, that's why you order a burger. Byron seem to think that a mushroom will happily replace a patty. It will not.
However, the courgette fries really are something to write home about. Go to Byron sure, but not if you don't eat meat.
Frances Howell
Two words: COURGETTE. FRIES.

I feel like a lot of people have visited a Byron at some point. But if they're anything like me then if they're having a burger, they're having a burger. And all of the sides and all of the calories. I'm not interested in vegetables when I'm eating a burger. Apart from Byron's courgette fries. So soaked in oil they probably no longer constitute a real vegetable but they really are the chain's star dish.

This branch of Byron is very shabby-chic with brick wall interiors and dangling wires and cords. There's lots of natural light and simplistic decor. It's hipster without the beanie and New Balance.

Four tips for Byron:
1. Get a shake, and get malt in it. Malt is key.
2. The salad that comes with the bun-less burger is large, fresh and you don't feel like you're missing out.
3. Courgette fries. Duh. And the blue cheese dip is a great accompaniment.
4. If you have space, share a sundae. Big and decadent. But if you're being that decadent, you may as well just get another milkshake too.

Oh! Good old Byron! Live saviours of a night out. If ever staying in the pub until late without having dinner and heading north amidst the angry roaring of a hungry tummy, this is definitely the place to stop by!
Lovely burgers, nice chips, even nicer beer and incredibly friendly staff. And most importantly: serving good food way past 11:30pm!
Special recommendations: Camden Hells and whatever the waiter recommends you (they really knkw their deal!)

Just love the burgers here!

I don't think I have eaten a better cheese burger anywhere else. The size of the burgers is a bit on the small side though and if very hungry it's easy to finish two in a sitting.

The milk shakes are very very good as well and complement the burgers very well
Priscille De La Tour
Byron is very famous in London for the quality of their burgers. Personally I think it is completely overrated. The fries need to be ordered separately from the burger and are overpriced. The burgers are good but not exceptional. The seating area is not comfortable and looks like a cheap dinner. This is probably the impression they want to give but it does not make it comfortable. The second time I went I tried a vegetarian burger because the beef burger had disappointed me. It was better but still not amazing. I always end up getting dragged in this place but there are definitely better burgers in town for burger lovers.
Marie DeblĂȘme
With out going into too much detail this is the place to go for a burger in London. Great bread, in conjunction with fresh well prepared fillings create one if the best if not simplest burgers I've ever had. Coupled with proper French fries and massive onion rings this place delivers on the authenticity.

The friendly staff are prompt and relaxed allowing for a quick turn around with your food. All I can summarise is that it is worth visiting one of their establishments for a bite. I visited the Southwalk outlet and I'd go back in a heart beat, finally someone has realised burger and fries isn't that hard!

Identical to the other Byron in London, the Angel restaurant appears rather small, but is on two floors therefore providing more space that you first think. The interior is meant to look cheaper than the others Byron in some sort of never finished decor. The burgers are of good quality and always a sure value if you are looking for a tasty burger.
Nicky
I know I know, 3.0 is an unfair ranking for such a great burger institution. So let me explain:
I am just really fussy when it comes to my burger, and I found that there is a lot that can be improved on, and better burgers to found!

Simple errors like over salted chips can ruin a meal, and so you can go home feeling hungry after racking up a ÂŁ15 bill, and 'eating the best burger in town'. All lies, I would expect not to be hungry for days if I ate the best burger in town. Don't let yourself be caught out by their 'reputation' the more Byron expands, the worse their attention to detail becomes, and the worse their burgers become. Burgers are everywhere, in all shapes and sizes, with varying flavours.

Bryon is a steady, safe and average choice. But not one for the true burger lover .
Paola Valenza
For burger lovers in London: an institution!

All the Byron restaurants around the city are different from each other in terms of style, but they all deliver delicious food!
This restaurant in particular is divided on two floors. From the street you can see the ground one: it looks warm and friendly. It really makes you willing to enter and see. The kitchen is open, so you can see the cooks preparing the delicious meals.
On the first floor there only tables, and the furniture remind a bigger and more crowded version of your moms kitchen.

Guaranteed suggestion for shake-lovers and/or Oreo-lovers: get Byron's incredible Oreo-shake!!
