Pie Shop offers very nice savory pies with diverse tastes and preferences in Covent Garden. The provided side sause makes it even more yummy and fulfilling. Fast food concept, friendly stuffs, excellent location. Recommended place, if you’re not super hungry and you would grab something. Prices are reasonable, but crazy comparing London’s standards.

Great for a quick eat. Middle of Christmas time so we were expecting it to be really busy but it was a 5 min wait with seating available.
Plenty of seating and the pie was lovely. I went for a steak and stout and my husband had steak and kidney with mash (I didn’t feel the need for mash, small appetite) but it was lovely And finished it all with room for sweet. £8 to eat a pie and mash in, cheaper to take out. Some good ales and wines on offer. Water on tap. No toilet that I could see for general public use.
Staff not particularly friendly however it’s a quick eat kinda place, not your usual sit down a la carte!

I have been in Battersea Pie Station a couple of years ago during a previous visit to Covent Garden and I loved their pies! This time I found it a bit lower quality, and the delicious potatoes that I remembered are now substituted with a kind of mash potato that doesn't look like real potatoes.. The taste of the pie is still good even if now they look smaller than before. In general, even if a bit disappointed for the changes of the last 2 years, I still recommend to try the Pie Station!! :)

Great lively spot in the middle of the market, on the bottom floor but don’t be discouraged. The Pie Shop is pushing out great pies with awesome mash! You can’t go wrong with the beef n stout or the turkey and ham! Pour the gravy all over and thoroughly enjoy your meal!

Decent pies, pretty traditional and standard in the flavourings but done well. I liked that they had sides other than just potato-based dishes, my friend's salad was quite good and I enjoyed the baked beans. They had a couple interesting beers to choose from as well. I found the space to be a bit dark and cramped though, as the ceilings were quite low.
Kathy Lim
I had the steak pie which was tasty but not much filling and the pie crust was rather thick. The sides were alright. Quite an affordable quick meal in a tourist area.

came here 11 am but the shop still closed.. back again on 11.30.. I tried steak & stout pie and butternut goat cheese pie with salad feta cheese and mash potato 👍👍👍👍👍 service all excellent and nice, the pie itself taste superb, they also provide sauce on the table..

Super charming location to eat some yummy meat pies and potatoes. The roasted potatoes are better than the mashed. The green beans are great as well!
Vins Prencipe
Very nice location as its on the basement floor of the Covent Garden Market! Food is delicious and the price is affordable, considering that you can either sit there or take away (and pay a bit less). I really suggest the beef and onions pie, very rich flavour and its perfectly combined with mash and gravy! Absolutely recommended :)
Kes Zayerman
A variety of differently filled pies served with mashed potato, gravy or liquor. None of your Pukka pie rubbish here, but rather a home made pie full of flavour. A decent meal for a decent price in this part of London.

Had a great mince beef pie with some mashed potatoes and a drink some time ago on my trip to London. Very nice traditional dish I had been waiting for to eat 😍
Joe Lonsdale
A small but stylish modern pie & mash shop squeezed into a little downstairs corner area. Consistently nice food and not too pricey for central London.
Christian Whiticar
My first pie experience. I can't say they are for me but I understand the appeal. Some nice sides and a hearty jug of gravy for flooding your meal. Cute interior. Tried the mince meat and steak and kidney. I'd say try the kidney for something less bland and more different if your not from the kingdom of unites.

Hearty pies, warm hearted staff. I had the butternut squash and cottage cheese pie, peas with mint and butter. Hit all the right spots. Peas were tender, subtle butter and mint, pies were filled to the brim, flaky, warm and smashing. Everything came together harmoniously with the red wine and herb gravy.
It took them a little longer than usual to serve me and the gave an additional side of mash on the house. It was just a 5 min or so wait. Such empowered, lovely staff.
I wished there was a bit more butternut squash though. Otherwise, if you're craving for a quintessential British dinner, or just getting out of the rain and want a seat, pop by Battersea. It's tucked in a corner and there are ample seating on the inside.

Very nice. Had bites with kids. Tasty and made with love.
For a family visiting UK from abroad, I personally found this more expensive than what I'm used to pay for food. But not so shocking from London prices perspective.
Thank you. We had a good time and loved the food.
Derek Fregeau (remarks999)
Had some pies with mash and a salad. The salad while simple was quite good. The pies were hot, seasoned well, and had a nice flaky crust.
Jamie
Came here for the second time after enjoying my first pie so much. Affordable food in the heart of London, and also offers a vegetarian pie option as well (butternut and goat cheese pictured).
Duncan Mcadam
Yeah that's some creamy proper mash and a couple of excellent pies, one steak and kidney, one chicken and mushroom with cider and lager to wash it down.
Great place reasonable price but not cheap
Grady
Pies are delicious! Get a hot one to chew on when you're there and a cold pork pie to take home.
Sharon Green
Fab place, best pie and creamiest mash ! Reasonably priced, would definitey recommend visiting.
Adepeju Bakrin
The pies were delicious that we got some to go as well. The service was OK, could be better.
Kelly McMillan
Great place for comfort food!! Get the green beans and mash with your pies. Separate little gravy boat for mash. Delicious, hearty, and well-priced.
Deana Potter
Went yesterday with my family...had been recommended to me, and I was not disappointed!! Really tasty pies, mash was delicious and had lumpy gravey, but I didn't care one bit, as it was lovely and think and yummy!!

The Butterpie Pie station located at the bottom floor of the Convent Market is an amazing place. I absolutely loved the, Chicken pie steak and the kidney pie.The ambience is very cute and casual. They have many options for toppings top suit everyone's taste. I highly recommend this place to all.
Diwakar Bhati
This is a nice place to eat at; very nice steak but nothing super special. There is usually live pianist playing at the restaurant so it has a nice atmosphere for a night out.
Lisa Reynolds
Won’t be going back anytime soon. I know it’s Covent Garden but very overpriced, for an undercooked pie, I went back and exchanged for another and still just as bad.
Gul E Zahra Mirza
After having few bad experiences i was so naive to try more pie places in London. But then i found this Cosy Little Pie Shop in the Heart of Covent Garden Market and loved it! they Serves the Yummiest Pies! Selection of Pies are Vast you can either Choose them on their own or with Mash and Gravy! But guys please consider changing your wooden benches. They are not comfortable at all!
Catfish
Price for One pie, mash and liquor is 10 pounds.Just too pricey, probably geared for sucker tourists.Charges 1.50 extra for liquor! Recommend going to a more traditional location although you may need to go further afield as Manze Islington is closing late 2017.
Shayan Sacki
Always a great option for lunch eat in or takeaway. The portion size is perfect and the mash smooth and creamy.
I always go for the steak and stout pie, which is rich and velvety and generous portion of meat

Covent garden has been near the top of my absolute favourite places in London since the first time I went there back in 2011. I tend to hate touristy places, especially when they’re really crowded, but there’s something about Covent Garden I simply can’t resist.

As for most heavily touristy places, food is still a bit meh around there though. And/Or rather expensive. But, as for any general rules, there are always exception and I think I’ve found Covent Garden’s!

Battersea Pie‘s shop is a tiny unassuming shop located on the lower level of Covent Garden’s Plaza. It is really easy to miss it as everything else around is so buzzy and colourful and loud, but somehow, I always find my way there when I’m in the neighbourhood. Most probably because it’s the best value-for-money meal you’ll find! And also, PIE!
Chris Giles`
I went into this restaueant on sat 29.8.15 in Covent Garden

it cost me £26.00 for 2 pies.rosemary potatoes and 2 waters SERIOUSLY Not good value for money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and i was still hungry afterwards. don't bother go to five guys its better value

The Battersea Pie Station is tucked away at the bottom floor of the Covent Garden market. You will find it located past a woman in an orange Mickey Mouse costume (obviously an unofficial Disney made one) and a stereotypical opera singer 'Pavarotti-ing' whilst making a balloon poodle! Expecting a somewhat fish and chip style place, Battersea Pie Station was very modern and stylish in a bright lit and white minimalist way. Clean and simple whilst making the pie the main attraction. Although there is hardly any known history about the origin of this pie station, the pie itself was developed over time by the Egyptians and Roman from over 9000BC all the way to the Medieval and Tudor times. As it stands today the pie is one of Britain's most loved concepts, so much so that this pie station has appointed Ray Winstone as a worthy endorser of the s

We find this little place in the middle of covent garden and I couldnt be in London and not try one English pie. After seeing some reviews I decided this was the place to try.
I'm not so brave I would adventure in a kidney pie which I think is more traditional so I went for the zomato recommendation and asked for a chicken and mushroom pie.

The place is lovely and although I don't like the concept that when you eat in you pay much more the prices aren't very high. I gotta say however in terms of food I was a bit disappointed. The pastry wasn't that good, didn't look very fresh and the filling although it was very tasty it lacked seasoning.

Overall, a bit of a let down but not a bad meal.
Lydia Harvey
This is a small place which I visited on my last trip to this city and had a wonderful time here. The food was excellent and was cooked to perfection, especially the steak and the kidney pie. The service was pretty quick and efficient. The ambience of the place is quite casual and comfortable.
Thomas Watkins
I recently tried this shop and loved the food here. This place attracts customers because of the food offered here and they do know how to retain customers. The only problem is the absence of a washroom even when drinks are available here. Else, everything is just perfect and would love to visit here again.
Prateek Dua
This is my favourite restaurant for having pie in this city, and I absolutely love it. They have the largest collection of toppings and everything tastes delicious. I especially recommend the chicken and mushroom pie, and one should order it with peas on the side. The meal can be ended by just about any dessert, because they are all amazing.
William Griffin
The food was really good here and it was also pretty filling. The portions were great enough. The prices of the dish were pretty decent.
This place is very suitable for tourists and if you will visit here you will notice this point too.
I would love to go here again and I will recommend this place to everyone.

After spending a lot of money and after a lot of walking, we looked for a traditional place in Covent Garden and this place happened to be just right for all our requirements. This place is a little gem, down below the market and offers fantastic pies, glorious mash and liquor which is perfect. The restaurant itself was very clean and we were greeted by a very welcoming and friendly staff. For a place in Central London, this place definitely offers good value for food, service and the ambience it provides. It is surely worth a visit.

We were extremely hungry, and having been here previously, we knew exactly what we should be expecting. The chicken and mushroom pie we ordered is truly lovely, and it is served with a very creamy gravy prepared with mash and red wine. There is nothing you cannot like about this place. It has a very lively atmosphere, and is visited by very interesting people. The food is inexpensive, and the menu is extensive. This is indeed an example of a quality experience.
Akansha Arora
I visited this shop and must say that the pie was delicious. I ordered the Chicken Pie. I really liked the mash and that gravy that was served along with the pie. I am still having a taste of that pie as I write my review. I would suggest all of you to visit this shop when you are around. Definitely going there again soon.
Sneha Chandran
My order at this place consisted of lamb pie.And you know a customer is satisfied when he exclaims yummy! The rich taste made me go 'mmmmm'. The lamb pie was totally worth it.The intense marmalade, the delicious vegetables made the dish absolutely superb! When here do try the lamb pie :)
Leah Anne
This restaurant had some great pies that we tried. We ordered the steak and guiness, as well as the chicken and mushroom. Both of them were well done and delicious. However, the sides I felt were a bit overpriced, almost as much as individual pies. Though in totality the prices were rather reasonable, making for an attractive stop in Covent Gardens, flooded with more options than one can handle.
Charlie Wheeler
The portions that these guys will be providing you are going to be huge. The staff is friendly and are very keen to help you out. I had Chicken plus Mush pie and mash and it was delicious.
I went here with 3 of my friends and on our exit everyone was happy. I would be going here again for sure.
Tanya Agarwal
This place is wonderful for takeaway, haven't tried dining in so can't comment. The food is absolutely delicious, the pie we took away was one of the best I had ever had, wonderful taste, and very fresh too. I really want to go back here.
Hannah Davey
The menu is quite an extensive one and this restaurant is quite large with ample seating space. We had chicken and mushroom pies which were quite delicious but on a rather expensive side. The staff though was very rude and unhelpful. The food though was quite good but it was the service which was pretty disappointing.
Madison Smart
The restaurant serves traditionally fast food at ridiculously high prices. The staff is also unaccommodating and unhelpful. They have a big menu and the staff rolled its eye when we took some time to decide what to order.
The food is well presented and is delicious, no doubt. But the restaurant needs to work on its service.
Anish Ganesan
I recently visited this restaurant during lunchtime and found it a good bet. The quality of food was very good and I feel having my meal here was a good value for money. The service though was kind of a hit and miss and was lacking on a few occasions but I think the meal was worth the wait.
Luca Waters
This place is wonderful for the amazing pies on offer. There is a good variety to choose from and everything is delicious. The music is a little rude and best ignored but otherwise, this place is amazing. Will definitely go back here and would recommend it to all.
Isabelle Green
This is a really good place to try something different . The staff was really very friendly and they were efficient too.
Their menu is vast and you have a lot to choose from. The portions are big and they are going to be pretty much filling.
I would recommend this place if you like exploring your choices.
Adam Little
This place offers some of the best pies that you will ever have. I had a chicken and mushroom pie and the quality of it was excellent. In addition to it, the staff was also amiable. I did not have to wait for my order too much and the pie was amazing.

Great pies... Good meat content, nice thick gravy and just about a purfect amount of pastry.. Good value given its location. Not had one inside as I usually take them away but it always looks clean and friendly.
We Love Food, It's All We Eat
Hidden in the depths of Camden’s Stables Market is Battersea Pie. A pie and mash stall that we first discovered in our nearby Bluewater. Sadly that site is no longer.

Now Camden’s not really a food destination, the market appears to be overrun with some rather mediocre looking eateries. A real shame as it’s a great place. However there is some fab pie and mash to be had, and at great prices too.

We perched on one of the many seating areas and tucked in to our pies. Chicken and mushroom with mash and gravy for me and Steak and kidney for him, both just £5.50! Liquor is also an option, and sides of peas and such. Faultless on all counts, the only negative is that as we’re out in the open we had to scoff it quickly before it goes cold. There’s always the Covent Garden branch for a more leisurely meal.
Mike Stead
I've given 5 stars to two places so far. The Hawksmoor was the other. That should tell you all you need to know really.

This is the best pie I've ever had and my favourite place to eat in London.
Vivek Khare
If you are on a strict diet plan then don't even wander around this place as the smell of crispy pasty soaked in mouthwatering filling on inside and aromatic gravy on the outside, would make sure that you break any dieting resolutions immediately and if you think you are strong willed then the tempting sight of a creamy mash potatoes and peas would get better of your steadfastness. Do I need to mention that the pies, mash and gravy here are excellent. Apparently they have branches elsewhere as well but it's my first experience with the battersea pie station and I wasn't disappointed. The location couldn't be better, the ever vibrant covent garden but obviously you can't go there for a quiet lunch, it's buzzing, it's tiny and does well what it set out to achieve...a good pie and mash, traditional British food at its best.
