We found about Hej Café while browsing through a “London best coffee shops” book at a souvenir store. The next morning we took the bus and went to Bermondsey. It was such a great experience! The coffee was great; the two ladies at the front desk were so welcoming and professional. We ordered Avocado sandwiches for the girls and they came out so fresh and tasty. You guys rock! Wonderful relaxed atmosphere for a great morning coffee

Nice and relaxed cafe on the square and close by the White Cube, with facilities for laptops to connect. Great banana cake. Also a few tables outside for the good season.

Popped in for a coffee & cinnamon bun, both were very good. Staff were friendly and it seemed a cosy environment but I didn’t stay (coffee to go). I’d definitely visit again though.

😊😊The coffee tastes amazing! The vibe is relaxed and nice to work in. And there are accessible plugs. Look out for the discounted cakes on the weekend 😎😄😄

the wifi is very slow and disconnects so be aware if you plan on going here to work.

Coffee is very well made and tastes good. Food is nice and you can tell its made fresh each day. Today the staff member Jordan was working on his own. Absolutely AMAZING service. Hes so friendly and even when there was a que of people, he worked quickly and effenciently to service everyone in a reasonable time. He even made friendly small talk by asking how my day was. This guy honest needs a pay rise. Definitely will be coming again.

Extremely lovely staff and great coffee. The pastry selection is excellent, and there are generously filled savoury bagels and baguettes. A great place to work - free Wi-Fi and laptop ‘zone’ for anyone who wants to set up for a couple of hours! Sadly no bathroom and none nearby, and the outdoor seating currently looks onto a building site

Super relaxed, clever decoration, great drinks. Plenty of natural light, great for chilling out or working for a while.

Love this cafe. Such lovely staff, tastey food and incredibly well priced healthy breakfast. I love going here for some morning reading and writing before work <3. Makes my mondays so much better!

Nice coffee shop with outdoor seating. Great quality coffee, though food is a bit pricey (£8 for toastie with salad).

Really cute place & friendly service! I loved the cinnamon bun. I’ll try and come back for breakfast when I need the area as it looks really good and was reasonably priced.
Only little downside is no toilets!

I ordered a grilled vegetable toastie and cappuccino to eat in. The toasty was bland. On the plus side, it was served with a side of crisps and some tasty coleslaw. The cappuccino was just okay and service received was just okay. I took home a cinnamon bun, which was a little dry and a salted caramel brownie that wasn't too good.

Relaxed ambience, decent coffee and courteous staff. We had croissants and a veg wrap which were alright. Overall ok place to stop by for coffee but nothing extraordinary.

Cute location, basking in the sunshine in the morning on the quaint Bermondsey square is dog friendly Hej Coffee. Attractive and cosy inside, tables al fresco, they offer great seleciton of cakes and nordic inspired pastries (cinnamon rolls) and very good coffee.

Very cosy place. Absolutely friendly smiling staff. Had flat white and cinnamon bun and they were delicious. Music is pleasant and they have also a communal table.

My favourite place to work and sip on excellent coffee, made by friendly staff, with good tunes playing quietly and a nice crowd. Fresh smoked salmon sandwiches for light lunch and all things scandi goodness abound. I love to grab some of Dante's flowers on the way home too, for our apartment. Love this place

Whatever the Swedes do, they do it with style. And stylish is exactly what Hej Coffee is. It's tucked away in a corner of what is quickly becoming a very trendy Bermondsey Square with tables and beach chairs strewn on the pavement out front. Hej doubles as cafe/ flower shop with colourful bunches of flowers contrasting the front of the vividly green building. The flowers don't come cheap, but hey, this is not Holland and at Hej you get a free cuppa coffee thrown in.
THE ZOMATO WARRIOR
Easily one of the best go-to coffee shops in the Bermondsey area, especially if you're a coffee nerd and like Scandinavian trendiness.

Lovely coffee, splash out on the Swedish Meatballs because they're decent (+ they kind of make it the full experience)

Small space, don't assume you will walk straight into a seat at the weekends. Staff great.

Only a slight divergence from the more obvious places nearby (Bermondsey St., Borough, Maltby St. etc) but well worth a visit.
