Title: A Charming Dining Experience
I recently had the pleasure of dining at this establishment and wanted to share my thoughts. The quality of the food is undeniably excellent, with a special mention for the delicious rigatoni with duck ragù. While the portions may not be overly generous, the flavors more than compensate for it.
The service, on the other hand, was a bit slow, which was a minor drawback. However, the staff was exceptionally courteous, making us feel welcome and at ease throughout the meal.
The elegant and well-maintained ambiance added to the overall experience. We started with a delightful appetizer of focaccia, and the cotoletta alla milanese was a scrumptious choice as the main course.
To complement our meal, we opted for the house wine, which turned out to be a great decision. All in all, it was a memorable dining experience in a refined setting, despite the slightly smaller portions and the leisurely pace of service.

Great experience in this Italian restaurant in Covent garden London 🇬🇧
We stopped there to have drinks. The place has an amazing terrace and its inside is very cosy.
The wine was delicious and the staff is very at your disposal.

Now only went for a drink. But the wine choice was brilliant. Try the Processco - it’s not your ordinary one. The Montepulciano was smooth. The view was great. Felt like I was in a piazza. Thanks to the manager for great service.

We stopped here one lunchtime before we popped into the Apple store. I had the set menu, which was very good. We chose vegetarian dishes - bruschetta, Caprese, spinach and ricotta ravioli in sage butter sauce, tiramisu and cheesecake. Everything tasted lovely. There was only one waiter, so the service was brisk with no pleasantries, but I didn’t mind because at least it wasn’t slow! A beautiful setting in the courtyard of The Yards Covent Garden, which is pedestrianised. We weren’t drinking wine, but this is a wine bar and shop, so you are in for a treat if you want a glass of vino with your meal. The express menu is excellent for pre-theatre meals.

I love an unexpected delightful encounter. Got a high shared table. Had the calamari and zucchini fritti as a starter. Risotto con funghi and tagliatelle as main courses. A couple of glasses of Chianti Classico. The staff were super attentive and efficient. My criticism would only be on pricing a tad pricey but delightful food and hey it’s London.

Great spot! Wine by the glass was so good we stayed for dinner. Ordered the lasagne and sea bass - both were excellent. The service was really great as well - the guy with the transparent glasses was very nice. There was live music (piano / singer) which created a great vibe. They have an outdoor and an indoor area - highly recommend!

I absolutely love this place. The wine list is amazing, and the food is delicious. However, what I enjoy the most is the atmosphere. It's an awesome spot to savor great wines and fantastic food while chilling out and enjoying the music. I will definitely come back very soon.

Wandered in during a typical London summer storm without a booking for a late lunch....
Greeted by the absolutely professional, friendly and utterly gorgeous French/Italian staff.
They were unbelievably accommodating.
Simple quality authentic Italian cuisine.
New bartender pulled out the stops with perfect drinks.
So flexible about menu substitutes.
French manager was so knowledgeable and experienced. Very friendly as all the staff. (And easy on anyones eye)
Styled decor.
Good value.
Booked our next meal on the spot.

Amazing Italian food!!! Great service, the staff is always happy to help you and welcoming!!! Amazing atmosphere, jazz music. They will add around 12.5% on the top of your bill, covering the service. But come on, we are in London, so you should normally expect minimum 10% to be added on your bill. 🙈🙈🙈 Totally recommend this restaurant!!!

Really enjoyed this space.
Wine was wonderful and service was prompt.
We sat in the courtyard which was wonderful with the sun beaming down.
We only intended to have a glass but stayed for more and some snacks.
Upon leaving the hosts provided us with complementary lemoncello. The perfect send off to a perfect wine bar. Bravo 👏

A spotless experience at Dalla Terra Wine Bar and Restaurant. We stopped by for drinks and a quick snack. Our experience was fantastic. Staff was kind and smiling. We were quickly offered a table, and our drinks arrived soon after! We ordered a fabulous Negroni and an Aperol Spritz. Both were perfect. The paired olives much welcome ☺️ Highly recommended! I'll certainly be back for food!!

The food was decent and great ambiance. Mocktail was alright. But the head serveur was very persistent of telling us continuously that we need to give up our table at a certain time. Which is understandable but I think we got the message the first time. My friends that were visiting felt it was a bit unwelcoming. Not quite the British hospitality I was hoping to show them

Nice cafeteria in the centre of London that satisfies the Italian people who are in London and wish a good Italian espresso café even better if corrected with Martini. Staff kind and very professional.

We've been regulars to this Enoteca for a couple of years now. A perfect place for any social events. The wine choices are impeccable and the staff always make you welcome with big smiles, guiding us to the right direction with wine selection and food. Fantastic homemade Italian food and their premium antipasti boards are second to none. Highly recommended for dates, meeting friends, family... for drinks and snacks or drinks and food. Thumbs up!!!

I had dinner at this establishment last night. Absolutely terrible food, service and overall dining experience. This is a wine bar trying to be a michelin stat eating establishment. I have never seen such over attentiveness from waiters, simply to get you ordering one expensive bottle of wine after another. The staff are also breathtakingly incompetent and refused to write down the table order. Well surprise surprise, the order was completely wrong, with side dishes arriving as appetisers and medium rare steaks arriving as well done. Its not rocket science - taking a large order will most certainly benefit from writing the table order down. To be avoided like the plague, of if this hasn't convinced you, just for for wine, it is not a restaurant.

We’d read some good things about Dalla Terra a while ago and been meaning to try it out for quite some time now. Somehow we never got around to it until now. We’re always in for a good Vinoteca (Italian winebar) and that’s basically what Dalla Terra is. The food at Dalla Terra is a very simple (most of the dishes are served cold or require minimal amount of cooking), but all tasted good (perfect picky food to go with a glass of wine). Dalla Terra, a lovely Italian wine bar in St Martin’s Courtyard in Covent Garden, set up shop about three months ago. Its focus is to offer a wide variety of quality (and predominantly Italian) wines – some 180 bottles and 30 by the glass – and a simple but delicious food menu in a welcoming setting. For the heart of Covent Garden, wine prices were reasonable with a Billecart-Salmon Brut Reserve champagne costing only £10. Chef Araldo De Vitis, who previously worked at St John Bar and Restaurant , has come up with a small menu of delicious tasting dishes to match the wines. The menu was well thought out and included simple delights such as a selection of bruschetta that featured cherry tomato with rocket and oregano which offered freshness and bite, and spreadable “Ventricina di Campotosto” salami with broad beans and pecorino which was rustic and hearty (£3.80). Tomato bruschetta Marinated haddock (£9.45) was delicate and tasty, and well matched with the lovely sweetness of some roast
We Love Food, It's All We Eat
Our initial gut feeling about Dalla Terra, a newish little Italian wine bar/restaurant on St Martin’s Courtyard was pretty bad.

The reason being one of the waiters made us feel a little intimidated and very unwelcome, I think if we hadn’t been reviewing we would have just walked out.

Questions regarding how many small plates we should order were met with sarcasm. Staggeringly when we asked which wine the waiter recommended he shrugged his shoulders, wine is what this place is all about! We were after some Puglian wine but they were all out apparently. We were also snootily asked what price range we fell into, as if judging us by our appearance, I think he felt we didn’t fit in with the suited clientele and have suitable spending power…

This is where non anonymous reviews can be tricky, we don’t know if he changed his tune because he found out we were invited guests or if he simply snapped out of his bad mood. Perhaps he’s just a bit Jekyll & Hyde...

For We Love Food's full review and more pictures go to... http://welovefood-itsallweeat.com/2012/09/17/dalla-terra-25-slingsby-place-st-martins-courtyard-london-wc2e-9ab/
