They just opened this week and their meals are delicious. Thank you for coming back guys.
I tried the pizza, fish and chips and the black rice with chicken. Can't wait to come back.
Also the staff is very friendly. Thank you

Attended an event! The food was good! Amazing atmosphere! Great selection of drinks. Attentive and helpful staff specially Halim who was very knowledgeable about drinks and mixers! Love their outdoor seating! Perfect for summer evenings! All in all it was a great evening! Would definitely recommend this place.

I had a great experience. The food was great, the location very nice. There were some vegan options (1 burger, 1 pizza, hummus, veggie siders and this salad). Went there hoping for vegan wellington as read in comments here. Turns out it's only on Sunday menu among roasts ... Will be for next occasion :)
Thanks!

Prior COVID and when I used to work close by the Green Room was my favorite spot during the summer. As they have a massive outdoor space it's perfect to come and unwind while having a cocktail or two.
The food is always delicious and there few vegetarian options.
Came here in December when a lot of places were booked for Christmas party.
Both my friend and I were going to be late so I called in advance to say that I would be 10 min late but ended up being 20min late. They still kept our reservation even though we were 20min and it was a busy evening. She kept the table because I called and said we would be late. .
The restaurant was packed and there were 2 big groups doing their Christmas party. Because of the 2 big group, the food we ordered came almost 45 min late but the manager was really apologetic and offered us free drinks while we were waiting.
The food was delicious as alwsys. It was decent size but full of flavours. It's one of those bar/restaurant that you need to know if you're around Waterloo station.
While the location is brilliant and the food is amazing.
The service is always a hit and miss. But other than that, I am looking forward to come back I. The summer.

What a great place, I cannot fault the food on offer . Staff were great, extremely friendly and helpful. We were not rushed or hurried to vacate our table. Lost one star on atmosphere as due to structure of building it gets VERY loud at times, struggled to hear friends at same table.
Would still recommend though 👌

I have been a couple of times now - mainly also because it's such a convenient place to meet. We sat outside yesterday in glorious October sunshine. It took ages to get the many waiters attention, hence a two star for service. The menu is short. Pizzas, small dishes, salads and key dishes like burgers. The pizzzas are delicious, thin and crispy. Overall, would gladly come back.

It's a beautiful place to chill and hangout with beautiful cocktails and delicious pizza and burger .
The staffs here are really cooperative .

We had shared food which was promptly served. The atmosphere is very nice. There was plenty of room during our visit which was just after opening so not busy then. Options for non alcoholic drinks appear limited. As someone who cannot drink alcohol due to medication that is a bit disappointing. Food was well presented.

A great location with a lovely ambience. I absolutely enjoyed the chicken liver pâté and yorkshire herb-fed bronzed turkey. However, the custard on the Christmas pudding burnt which kind of ruined the dessert for me. The place seemed to have good vegan options on the menu. The service was ok. Went with colleagues and had a great time here! Would love to visit again.

Great food, delicious vegan options, lovely staff, really nice atmosphere, hugely recommend!

We had a booking for a bottomless brunch over the weekend. Unfortunately, my guest and I were quite late due to an unexpected emergency. The staff working were super understanding and although we missed brunch, were able to come up with a great alternative which we were really happy with. The two waiters (the guy from Algeria and the guy from Poland) were great - extremely friendly and helpful, and never let out glasses go empty. A big thank you to the team for looking after us, and a strong recommendation for anyone looking for a great day out this summer!

Came as a group of 5 on a Saturday worrying that we’d not be able to grab seating due to it being the weekend. Loved that we were able to grab seating outside but wish there were more heating devices around our table as we practically had none. Would have also been great if their were more larger party tables indoors. Nevertheless, the food was reasonably priced for what we ordered. I chose the English muffin which was an Eggs Benedict w/ sausage patties instead of Canadian bacon. Would have loved if it came with some fries, salad or potatoes as the dish didn’t quite feel full enough. Our server, Yogi, was really swift and accommodating though.

Very nice and fancy pub with a massive garden with plenty of room. Great for accommodating big gatherings. Staff and service is very nice and attentive. Food is great but not much variety; typical pub menu and pizzas. Pizzas waiting time was 45mins and they got run-out soon. In terms of prices, you pay a bit extra for a great location and atmosphere.

We really enjoyed sitting on the Terrace for our meal but the menu is very limited, especially if you are a vegetarian and we paid quite a bit more than we usually pay for a meal before the theatre. Staff were friendly and we were given a free portion of sweet potato fries which were delicious. We won't be coming back. Sorry!

One of my fav chill out spots in the big city! The Hake dish is one of my particular favourites for a main, with the crab and avocado toast to start is simply divine. Very reasonably priced, extremely nice and helpful staff, with a nice wine selection. What more could a city girl ask for?
Perfect place for a meal or a snack. I can't recommend The Green Room enough! 🍽

Very poor service - we had a couple of drinks in the front outside area and when we wanted to order food we were told that we will need to move inside. We quickly found the table and after 10 minutes of waiting we still weren't served. When I went to the bar to order drinks I was told that because we are now sitting in the table service area I can't order any more drinks at the bar and that someone will be with us shortly. We waited another ten minutes and after a total of 20 minutes with no service we decided to leave. It's is a lovely venue and all 4 of us had really good time for the first hour when we were in the front garden. It's a shame we weren't able to continue our night in the Green Room and had to find another place for dinner.

This is a lovely venue to get food and drinks before you visit the National theatre. The food we had was delicious and the staff were friendly and attentive.

Stopped with my family for a drink on a cold February day, ordered 2 coffees plus other drinks, the coffees were cold, returned them to the waitress apologetically who very unprofessionally huffed and made them again, She disagreed and said she drinks coffee and it wasn’t cold, no milk thermometer in sight though! She then continued to talk about me to her colleagues. Very unprofessional.

Fabulous meal, great food, lots of activities and costumes to dress up in to for Halloween. I happened to book online and say it was my boys birthday. Never spoke to anyone in the restaurant yet when dessert came they had candles in and sung happy birthday. Was very touching.

Poorest service I've received in my life. The lady in the door only allowed us to use a specific table when half of the place was empty, the table was not cleaned, sticky and with drinks yet, in the meanwhile she was just chatting with colleagues, when moved to a cleaner table because the bar man allowed us to, she came and asked us to move again. First time in my life I have to complain in a restaurant. Just avoid the hassle and go somewhere else.

Even though they were very busy, the service and food was very good. Only slight irritation was the draught so I was a bit cold. Next time, on a chilly, winter’s day, I would prefer not to be seated next to the windows. Definitely recommend it for an informal lunch or pre theatre meal.

Lovely ethically sourced food. Great choice for a before or after show meal in South Bank. Quick friendly service and excellent value for money. I've been a few times and never disappointed.

Awesome food. Great atmosphere! Perfect place with the deckchairs in the sun

Fantastic service - all the staff were very attentive and friendly. Food and wine was great! Thank you!

Went in quite late after a show for drinks and nibbles. The staff were great and the girl serving us could not have been more accommodating. Food was great and good value. We will definitely be going back 👍

Attached to the National Theatre, The Green Room serves easy eating British food. It’s a collaboration between the National Theatre and a local social enterprise called Coin Street Community Builders. The Green Room has a classy diner feel to it and is unsurprisingly popular with theatre goers.

Really nice local food joint. Me and some mates stopped by and had a quick bite. Sat outside and enjoyed some cocktails afterwards. Decent tunes on. Couldn't complain at all. Great location too.

A few months ago, on a stroll by the South Bank, we spotted a new restaurant, tucked in a previously unused corner of Upper Ground, right behind the National Theatre’s concrete structure. A single storey, wood and glass space with a bright green neon sign reading ‘the Green Room’. I did not make much of it to be honest, until one day, thinking of going somewhere locally for a bite to eat, I thought of checking if they were dog friendly. Immediately came the reply on Twitter: “of course, we love dogs!” I did not need to check anything else (the menu?) and booked a table. We have, since then, been back a few times already and I feel the Green Room are worthy of a blog post because their food is as good as their attitude towards dogs! So what is the concept behind the place?

I had been meaning to visit the Green Room for a while now as I always walk past it and it looks really nice. So when I got to pick the team lunch destination I picked this one. The menu looked fresh and tasty and there was a good selection of drinks.

I had the burger with chips and I was very happy with it. While they only have one option and it is pretty simple without any fancy extras, the patty was juicy and slightly n the salty side like I like it and the bun was very fresh and soft. I wish all my burgers were like that. The chips were also very yummy and full of flavour.

My colleagues also tried the squid and the chicken and they all said that they were glad I picked this place because their food was great.

The raspberry wheat beer that I also tried was a bit too sweet but it was an interesting flavour and after I got used to it I liked it.

The staff was very friendly as well and while the food took a little while the atmosphere of the place made up for it. I think it's the quirky decor that has a hipster/reclaimed items vibe and a lot of light coming in from the glass windows all around that makes it feel like a happy place.

There is also a beer garden outside for when the weather is hot and they sometimes put deckchairs on the grass so you can drink comfortably.

I would definitely go back to try more of their menu and have already recommended it to some friends.

Firstly, the positives. A few of the waitresses were lovely and clearly overworked! Now the negatives, the food was not how it was described in the menu, we order salmon with potato Rosti only to be given a salmon and a walkers chisp. It was that unbelievable it was funny. Also beetroot salad was a plain salad and the sauces on the menu didn't come with the dish we had to remind them what the menu said a few times. Really they served us anything that sounded something like the menu. Our main courses came and I was informed there was some problem and I basically wouldn't get my meal for another 10 mins, which turned into 20 mins and everyone else had finished eating. They didn't charge us for this meal but when they knew it was going to be delayed they should have held all dishes back. Food quality was ok in the end, average but ok. This place clearly needs a manager!!

One of our recent, new local favourite. Great location, fantastic sustainable credentials, friendly and efficient staff and good, flavoursome food with good choice of artisan beers. Non profit enterprise, too. #dogfriendly too which is fantastic. Hopefully the menu choices will vary more in the near future.

Somehow found myself looking for food in the obvious, hellish tourist trap that is the Southbank.

In hindsight I should have walked 10 mins to the Cut, but instead we picked the unassuming Green Room, hidden around the back of the National Theatre.

Little did we know the restaurant was actually part of the theatre.

Food well priced but sailing close to being v average. Veggie Sloppy Joe was a massive let down. However the burger was decent and if you ever find yourself here it's definitely the meal to get.

Service not great, though do feel sorry for the waitress getting a bollocking as we left because she accidentally put 8xPotato Skins on our bill and nearly let us pay a lot of money for not a lot of quality.
