We went with SoHo Pub Tour to The Ship. Our Guide, Tom Hogan, was a hoot. He's knowledgeable, witty, and full of enthusiasm.
The Ship is a storied SoHo Pub with clientele like Jimmie Hendrix (wooed the Barmaid, fell down the stairs together), Keith Moon (wrecked the place/banned for life), John Lennon (big Tipper).
Our group of 18 did the Guiness Challenge with Tom. He won, we wobbled tippsily. As a group, we loved Tom and particularly the music history of The Ship. Gotta do it, folks.! Great fun.

Love this pub! Mum used to come here years ago when the old Marquee Club used to be on Wardour Street, as well as the Intrepid Fox. This pub is steeped in history and a proper old haunt for rockers and musicians back in the day. Still has its character now and the bar staff are so friendly - I told one of them that my Mum used to come here years ago and his response was “welcome home!” Such lovely sentiment. 10 out of 10 👍👌🙌🙌🙌

A typical no frills London boozer in a busy and prime location. Really good selection of drinks. Staff are friendly and serve with a smile. If you are a rock music fan then be sure to pay a visit. Varied clientele. Toilets kept to a reasonable standard. Really good atmosphere on busy nights.

I spent many years habiting this bastion of being yourself. Certainly not as riotous as when I was visiting in 90's and 2000's but have popped in a couple of times recently and it was lovely that I knew a friendly face from behind the bar... Great place and I wish them well.

Nice little Soho pub with a great outdoor terrace area. Toilets leave a little to be desired but the pints are great and there’s a big selection of craft ales and lagers. Good place to stop off after work for a few drinks or even as part of a pub crawl in the area.

The Ship is a great place to enjoy rock music. They have a wide selection of beers, ciders, and wine, and the prices are reasonable. The downside is that there is no food. The atmosphere is inviting, and the people are always friendly. I've been there a few times, and I've always had a good time.
The last time I went there, there was a DJ playing some great rock music. The crowd was really into it, and everyone was having a good time. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who enjoys rock music.

My favourite place for a drink when in London. Good vibes in a great location.
Didn't try the food options but only because we'd already eaten.

This is it. My favorite pub from my short time in London great guus working there. Great taste in music. The atmosphere of this pub is great. From the wooden furniture to the brown colors. Definitely would visit again.

Fairly standard pub. Nothing unusual or interesting. They have cold pies on the menu. Wasn't game to try them but on research i regret that.

I haven't been in here for a few years. It's changed, but not too much. Good selection of beers and pork pies. Eclectic mix of of music and pleasant bar staff. Sorted

Great little pub. I always find it a bit noisy, but that's probably just me and the tunes are always good! Nice space for a lean outside. Prices are creeping up but that's par for the course, I suppose, so you've got to take it on the chin. Still, at least they had Verdant's Lightbulb last time I was in. Cheers!

Thought we would have our first Guinness for St Patrick's day... it was disgusting .... you need to train your staff in how to pour and look after your Guinness... the pub smelt of pee .... no atmosphere needles to say we will not be calling again ... oh and the rose wine was like vinegar

I echo the comment from one of the other reviewers that, indeed, immediately upon entering the pub the first thing you notice is quite a bad smell in the place. Of course you won't notice after a few pints, but still...
Other then that, very nice place.

Went there for drinks on a Wednesday evening a few weeks ago. Great if you want to enjoy eclectic music, funky staff and well kept beer (didn't try other drinks or food). Didn't look like the kind of place for a quiet night out, so don't go there if that's your thing. But for a lively (start of an) evening, this is the place to be!

Loud obnoxious punk music. Heavily tattooed bar staff. I love it!!Great quick service even when rammed. My fav little pub in Soho!
Paul Bensley
Cracking pub playing some good music whilst I was there this included Jimmy hendrix and led zeppelin, so that and a good pint or pints :) of London pride was the tick in the box for me. Many thanks to all the staff that have made me feel most welcome over the past few months. Merry Xmas to you all and I wish you continued success in 2017. Paul :) x

Cracking pub, been drinking in here nearly 40 years so it's changed a bit. Walked in wearing a Who Tshirt last night and within about 5 mins the staff were playing Who tunes. Good range of Fuller's beers and a few interesting bottles. Always packed.

Really bad smell in the pub and noticed people walked in and then left almost immediately. I had already bought my flat lager so sat down. Didn't take my cost of though as the dust and grime was very evident, maybe it was a spit and sawdust theme pub. Anyway it wasn't nice and I hope not representative of the rest of Londons pubs.
Barbara Daily
Really nice pub that welcomed a group of women. Other places wouldn't let us in - their loss !
Well done The Ship - nice pub, nice staff . The food looked lovely so will eat there next time

Ian M Lindsay
The busy Carnaby Street pub was a welcome break on a Thursday lunchtime. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. I didn't try the food on this visit, but many others did and it appeared to hit the spot. I'll be going there again.

Love the Ship. Rich history, great meeting place, one of my fave bars in Soho, been going in and out for 30+ years.

Nice little pub bang in the middle of wardour street - great music and decent crowd. Good range of beers and given it’s a Fullers pub it’s well stocked with my favourite ‘frontier’ beer . Play a lot of retro music and the ambience is friendly and a good mix across Varied age groups and a mix of tourists and locals
Pedro Simplicio
noisy pub. Lots of choices of draft beers and ciders. Room with few tables. Very busy. Average prices for London. Religious respect for closing hours.

The Ship on Wardour (there are a few The Ships in London I have found over the years) is an unassuming little local in the West End that has been around forever and has an incredible rock history claiming the likes of locals such as The Jam, Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon, The Sex Pistols, The Who and The Clash.

It has taken me quite a while to write up this review but I had a wonderful after-work session with a friend here and The Ship really has a great buzz. Good beers, good pub grub and a really lively atmosphere.
