Great place with delicious pizzas ( 2 for 1 mondays)
Was served by an amazing person there and she went above and beyond to take care of all patrons there alone. She's a hero, pizza came out hot and delicious. Would recommend as now this will be my local pizza spot ( on Mondays lol)

Tired, thirsty and hungry on arrival and was met with a warm welcome, great service, perfect pint and the best pizza I’ve had for ages (the Blue Art pizza). Background music at the perfect level and other patrons pleasant. Fantastic place.

My favourite local pub with a brilliant roast. Great outdoor seating for the warmer season

The George and Vulture is one of my favourite pubs. The staff are so friendly. Their pizzas are amazing. They always have an amazing selection of Beer on draught. Simon is amazing and he knows what he is doing. I'm glad that the Roadhouse is back, one of my favourites.

Just a good little pub! The pizza was amazing 👏 😋 would recommend the wicker man

Nice bar with a good variety of tasty pizzas. On monday they have a 2 for 1 offer on pizza which is really worth it. I had a nice time hanging out there with friends. The workers are very friendly and provide a nice ambiance. Prices are fair ( 14£ for a pizza) Also a good selection of brews

We went here for a friend's birthday. The food was really nice . Me and my partner both had the steak , which I thought for London was really good price . It was a really good cut , thoroughly enjoyed our time there .
We had an infant with us so we did have to leave early but it's a nice pub and wish I could of stayed longer .
Also the pictures on the wall are awesome .

Beautiful neighborhood pub with a strong plus: they make a technically perfect sourdough pizza with very good quality ingredients. Interiors are warm and welcoming and the staff is ok. A hidden gem in the area!

Great night on Tuesday - joined for the Quiz. Really helpful and friendly staff after I made a mistake with my booking.
Great food and atmosphere can't wait to go back!

Never had a bad time in the G&V. It's got an interesting blend of traditional pub with hipster bar. The pizzas are really good and there's plenty of outdoor space for those non-rainy days.

Extremely delicious pizza and very friendly staff! I recommend you coming on a Monday to get 2 pizzas for 1. Looking forward to try their roast on a Sunday.

We cycled around the area and we liked the vibe of this place as it was quite busy for the outside seating area. So we decided to stop buy and have some drinks and a nice Sunday lunch. Staff very nice, service was good. Will definitely come back again.

A really good pub for draught beers and ciders with plenty of outside bench seating but you will have to be quick to get seated.
Don't be scared to share a bench with a lone stranger, the people are very friendly with lots of locals and workers from the area.
They do quizzes once a week and seem to be very active in the local community.
Pizzas....really tasty but I have to say tiny, thin and not much on top but it's a quality not quantity thing. The "wicker man" at £15 is especially tasty. Also seems to be a bit hit and miss as to when they serve them but worth the wait.
Doggo friendly for the walkers too with a doggy watering station by the door.
Worth a visit. I'm.local so will alway be close by.

We were super impressed; family friendly service in a classic pub decor with delicious pizzas and cheap pints! Couldn't ask for much more

If you want to bypass the hustle and bustle of Shoreditch High Street. Then, make your way to Pitfield Street. There you will find a wonderful pub called The George and Vulture. Beautiful people and food Pizza 💚

my friend loves this spot & it's light filled tall windows reveal the gem of being the tallest 1870 dated pub. the locals are super chill, which is especially appreciated.

The whole damn farm roast was incredible. The staff super friendly and very accommodating of my dog. Highly recommend!

Nice pint of Guinness chip shop next door, good crowd. It'll do for me

Ok - it's not a 5 (the "ultimate G&T" was fairly average) but it's certainly not a 1 either. Good atmosphere, good pizza, friendly staff, not overly expensive.
All the negative reviews seem to focus on one thing "racist drug dealing" which leads me to think all these reviews relate to a single incident and a disgruntled customer with lots of friends.
They can't honestly have had over 50 incidents of POC being accused of drug dealing. Can they?
Holly Lillington
Vile place, disgusting staff behaviour how this place is still standing is a miracle!!!
I think racist places like these should shut down....
It's 2017, I'm telling everyone I know to never come here.

I'd definitely recommend giving this place a go. Pizzas are superb and it's just a real friendly vibe that makes it really easy to unwind after a hard days work.

Awesome place and great atmosphere. Like a home from home. A must visit if you are in the area 👍🏼

Great place good service love the food. Enjoyed the communal singing

Lovely place run by great people. Worth the trip for some delicious food.

FYI: All of the 5 Star reviews of this pub are fake. The racist owners of the pub are getting their (entirely white) friendship group to post positive reviews. This is because the racist staf openly accuse anyone black on the premesis of being a drug dealer, and then proceed to harrass and bully them. Shame on this grubby little racist pub and the racist white friends of the pub who are giving it 5* reviews.

This pub is run by amazing people, and is a great spot. love the GnV!

Disgusting place. Don't go here.
It's atrocious how they have treated people of colour here. The staff are outwardly racist and discriminatory and this is not an establishment that I would even set foot in.
Leslie Fulton
Great pub. Delicious sourdough pizza. Nice atmosphere. Lovely staff.

I have been going to the George and vulture for years and years since I was a teenager, the pub has always been there since I was born, it was my family's local, it has always been a lovely meeting point for our family whenever we are up in London. My mum still lives in the flat that she grew up and her balcony overlooks the pub, you can always hear and see the friendly relaxed atmosphere as it has always been forever since from the word dot.I hope it never changes and will be there forever. It's just as it should be and this is coming from a true Cockney London error and proud of it !!!!!!!!!!!

Disgusting and racist behaviour from staff. They will accuse you without any proof of selling drugs in their bathroom. Sort this OUT.
Danielle Regan
Amazing pub! Great team , great service , fantastic food and drink
KM Cheng
Staff is very friendly, drink is cheap, quite busy on a Wed night after work. i was waiting for the play to start at the Courtyard Theatre close by so didn't stay long (wouldn't mind :)!
Maria Garcia
Not a good vibe at all.. Staff seem unable to cope with different races of people in one place.. Ridiculous and embarrassing for a central London pub!
Lucadc
This is definitely one of the best pizzas I've had in London. The two chefs are Italian. The pizza is really light (sign that the dough has been properly raising) despite the toppings (with some that could seem not very traditional but they work all together!). I definitely recommend this place, especially on Mondays when there is 241 for any pizza and bottled beers

I do love me a pub quiz. Having been introduced to one right in manor, my Tuesday nights a mainly booked up. What makes this little night of racking your brains for answers is the food. More and more pubs are representing with their food. No more dodgy freezer finest or microwave meals, its all about getting some fresh grub in your belly.

The George & Vulture totally gets it right.

A handful of sourdough pizzas make the cut on the menu on a Tuesday night. Beyond pizza they do other dishes and snacks, but the pizza is what has taken my fancy, so every time I go there I have to have it.

The pizza choices are cured meat, my option of choice with salami Napoli, salami Calabrese, parma ham and red chilli. Absolutely gorgeous with the obligatory lashings of extra chilli oil. Not for the faint hearted. Other options include one with anchovy, one with butternut squash (veggie), one with goats cheese and the classic margherita.

The pizzas are freshly prepared, you can see the Chefs right there piling on the ingredients to the sour dough base.

I would rather you did not crash my quiz night as we have enough competition as it is, but if you are in the area it would be unfair of me to be so selfish. You gotta have this pizza. You need to have this pizza. Fact.

The George and Vulture has been our "local" while staying in London for a few days. They have great thin crust pizza (all be it they are a bit light on toppings) and good beers. A nice place to hang out and have a pint or 2.
Charlie Baker
Great sour dough pizza and a perfect pint of ale. Log fire, good tunes and a comfy couch - perfect for a chilled afternoon. Friendly staff made my day.
Alice Gee
Lovely handsome pub, just a little bit off the beaten track in Hoxton, so it is possible to get a table on the weekend when the neighborhood is otherwise groaning. Good thin crust pizza's.
