Bad egg knows how to do bottomless brunch! Mix and match cocktails and two dishes from the menu, that is the deal you need to try. Place is very lively with good music and very friendly staff. Even tho, the place is tiny and packed at all the time, everyone who worked that day was accommodating, smiling and having good time. There’s nothing more that customer would ask. We have tried hash brown “burger”, poke bowl, popcorn chicken and pancakes. And we both agreed that popcorn chicken is the winner. But we will be definitely coming back to try their regular menu, as the burger apparently is the best in town!

Enjoyed our visit to Bad Egg. We were in the vicinity and wanted breakfast so popped in. We tried the Guac and Black Bean Tacos which were quite good, the Shakshuka which was spicy and Pancakes with Blueberry Jam and Vanilla Cream were descent. One of the waiting staff was a bit brisk but then we were looked after by a New Yorker who was studying in the UK and she more than made up for the briskness of the previous person. The coffee could be improved upon. Interiors were industrial in style and akin to an American Diner. Good place to check out if you want a relaxed breakfast in the city without feeling you should be wearing a suit!

Brilliant egg themed restaurant with an alternative styling.
The staff was super enthusiastic when I was there and served us quickly. Food was cooked fresh to a high standard and an absolute delight for a late breakfast. I'll definitely be back!

Absolutely loved the food here - it was seriously amazing. I would give 5 stars but unfortunately the speed of the service really let things down by the end. After asking for the bill there was probably a good 15 minute wait before receiving it, and then there was another 15 minute wait for the card reader to come over. This long wait at the end was a shame, as otherwise the food was perfect, and I definitely recommend going anyway!

This restaurant has been styled in quite a unique and interesting style and the menu items reflect this. My chicken burger contained coconut, peanut butter and jam among other things and this surprising works in a way that must be experienced for yourself, like or dislike. Staff were friendly but wish they were more present around the restaurant as it was hard to summon one.

Fantastic boozy brunch. Food was good, the bottomless was really bottomless. A really great waiter who was never anything less than charming. The restaurant was packed but service was top notch. A must do if you are a brunch fan.

We went here for a bottomless brunch and was fantastic! There are not many alcoholic drinks options for the brunch (mimosa, Prosecco and Bloody Mary) but drinks do come to you quick and you constantly being topped up. Staff were really great and attentive, taking orders quickly and explaining the menu clearly. The menu was great and had loads of different options. The brunch lasted for around 2 hours, you got bottomless drinks and two dishes for £35, I thought this was a great price considering you are in the city and a lot of other brunches in London charge you around £25 just for the drinks and you pay for food on top. I would 100% recommend this place.

The food here is ridiculously wicked ;) but oh so satisfying and tasty. Go during the week outside of peak lunch/dinner hours for a great experience - to get a table instantly and also it’s not too noisy then and the service is good. Absolutely love the food, and would recommend this place and I will also be back :D

I really enjoyed my cheeseburger ... simple but really nice. There was a very broad choice and the staff were all really friendly and helpful. Go in knowing that you don't get anything extra with the burgers, you have to order sides, but the portion of the burger is so generous that you can get away without sides anyway. Drinks were really good and although we weren't there for the bottomless brunch people in there who were seemed to be loving it.

Came to Bad Egg for some brunch and really enjoyed it. Was a bit tricky finding the place but you won't be disappointed! I ordered the American pancakes which we delicious along with some prosecco. The restaurant is quite small so would recommend trying to get a booking although I think between 12-3pm they don't allow bookings. The service was great, really lovely team who helped us choose some items etc. Would like to come back!

Amazing food and even better service! Don’t be shy to tell them to fix your food the way you want, they will always accommodate (I don’t eat pork and they happily replaced the bacon with an egg with no extra charge). Their brunch is as amazing as their dinner!

The staff were fantastic. Really friendly and enthusiastic. The breakfast was absolutely delicious. A fusion of English/ Mexican breakfast. It was mouth watering. It was great I really liked it.

We've been here a couple of times. Once for the bottomless brunch on the weekend which was pretty loose but a great time and again just recently for an evening dinner. My partner and I shared the Fried Chicken burger, the Lamb Hash and the Pulled Pork and Kimchi loaded fries. All were delicious! The prices are a little steep for what you get but I guess it reflects the location. Special mention goes to the pretty tiles in the bathroom!

Nice brunch food. Potentially not quite up to the hype but still worth a visit. The pancakes were fluffy and the fried chicken was tasty. Also great black pudding

I enjoyed lunch here.
The service was quick, food and drinks were good, the staff were lovely and attentive.
We tried the hashes which were great.
Fried potato mixed with different things. The original (fried potatoes with a burger!) Looked amazing and my friend really enjoyed it.
I had one of the limited time hashes which was good with interesting flavour combinations!
I would definitely go again.

Went for the all you can eat brunch. The drinks are unlimited which is great and you get any 2 mains. Pancakes with fried chicken and maple syrup was definitely interesting but I wasn't so keen on the eggs Benedict. The ham was too overpowering for me personally. Was quite busy so would recommend booking in advance.

Although we had a reservation at 5, we were queuing outside in the cold still at 5:10. It seems they change all the customers as the same time instead of staggering bookings. When we finally got to the table, it turned out they had cancelled the booking, although they still managed to find us a table. Once seated, it took another 5 minutes or so for a waiter to see us and start with the unlimited prosecco order. Once all of the 5 o'clock groups were seated, the restaurant did end up quite noisy as plenty of people were crammed in.
The breakfast tacos were delicious, my 2nd dish was underwhelming. So much so that I can't remember what it was.
At the end, it turned out that a discretionary 12.5% service charge is also added. Which adds a fair amount to the overall bill. The service wasn't amazing, they did the minimum required to run a restaurant. If they want 12.5% extra, they should add it to the base price. Or leave it off and just have service worth tipping, not miserable waiters.
Apart from that, the other downside was that there was only one mens and one womens toilet, which seems an odd choice for a restaurant offering unlimited drink. This lead to long queues.
If you like prosecco, this place is probably worth visiting once.

This place was ok. I'm from the US so I asked my waiter what a BAP was. He had to go ask which should have been a sign. He came back and said it's served on a hamburger buns. It's my fault I didn't ask if that meant a sandwich. I picked a breakfast hash and off he went only to come back and say that it was only served after noon...on a Saturday... So I ended up with a breakfast sandwich which was decent just not what I wanted for Saturday brunch.

I sadly made a mistake in ordering the breakfast burrito it was very disappointing however my friends choice was amazing it was creamy scrambled eggs with cheese chorizo and tacos on the side... I think the lunch menu looks more appetising but definitely think £10 for a very small unexciting burrito and 5 teeny hash browns is a bit steep. Would go back though and give something else a try!
Kirsty Pope
Came here for their virgin brunch as was a little hungover and was not disappointed. Service was quick despite the place being very busy. We had no reservations but we're front of the (rather large) queue yesterday at opening. Staff quickly seated people with reservations first and then showed us a table.
The beans & kimchi were just fab (& I usually loathe baked beans!) as was the breakfast tacos. The nachos weren't to my liking but were cooked well, just my personal preference :D
Good choices available and the chicken wings were also definitely worth a try!

Delicious food, great atmosphere, cool music and lovely mimosas. Would definitely visit again. I recommend the rib tips - one of the best things I've ever tasted!!

5 out of 6 of us thoroughly enjoyed our breakfasts, probably the best full English I've eaten! However, just like the name, our only issues were with the badly poached eggs, which was a shame as one breakfast was Eggs Benedict

Absolutely amazing food and atmosphere, we went in the middle of the afternoon and were warned it would be quite loud, but in my opinion it just added to the buzz of the place. The staff were extremely attentive and went over and beyond when I asked if they were able to create a little special something for my best friend as we were celebrating her recent engagment. I haven't stopped telling people about what a good time I had. I will definately be back!
Melissa Tebbutt
We went for a 'Frunch' as a birthday treat. Unfortunately they were having problems with the prosecco pump however the staff were really good and offered alternative drinks. The manager was amazing and couldn't apologise enough and even went out of her way to go and buy some bottles of prosecco elsewhere. The food was lovely, I would go back just for the cheeseburger hash! We were not rushed and drinks were topped up constantly. Our glasses were never empty!!
Melly Mac
The food was good (some items on the menu were already sold out) but the service was poor. There are much better brunch services available elsewhere.
Sian Buckingham
Our party of 10 had a great Afternoon, experiencing the boozey brunch!
Food was average & all came at the same time, would have been nice if it was staggered. Drinks were constantly flowing & went well past the 2hr limit. As you can imagine the volume of noise gets louder as the 2hrs goes on, but it adds to the vibe!
Glad I've been but highly unlikely to ever return🥂

I can honestly say this place was amazing visited with a group if friends yesterday for my friends birthday! Right from booking they couldn't be more helpful although sometimes slightly hard to get through on the phone! They knew this was a surprise event so they organised for us to get the table early to decorate it! We was able to take a cake which they were more than happy to provide plates and cutlery for! Our waitress what a legend the level of customer service was incredible we had two non drinkers with us and she would always make sure they had a drink this was important as they was continuously walking around topping up the drinkers we never had an empty glass once! This is the best boozy brunch I have been too! Getting back to waitress she played along with us had conversation and personality she was a real Gem all 5ft of her! Would 100% reccomend we will be back for Frunch! Xxx

Fabulous place, especially for a Mother's Day brunch. Will definitely recommend to others :)
Holly Rose Ashe
Besides the cheerful manager, service was pretty appalling. It wouldn't hurt to smile. Food was nice, although super small portions, and bottomless prosecco is always good. I'd go somewhere else for bottomless brunch though.
Jamie Shack
Really enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant from the lighting to the funky chairs.
We ordered 3 meals, Pulled pork & Kimchi hash, Korean wings and the Bad egg burger. All the meals were greasy and very salty but somehow that made the food more delicious.
Service was amazing, could tell that the waitstaff really cared about there job!
Gurtej Matharu
Came yesterday
Food was amazing very filling for the portion sizes but was abit loud so made it hard to talk to the person next to you.
Didnt like the service from one blonde waitress, she was very quiet in calling out the food and brought something we didnt order but gave US attitude for it
Also the alcoholic drinks were topped up quicker then my tea haha
Other than that will come again definitely
Sarah Shooter
Was a little limited as to what I could eat being both vegan and allergic to wheat so I ended up with a lot of guacamole (and tacos and nachos) which I was happy with anyway The waitress was new and she was so kind and kept making sure I was ok
Sara Gibson
Brunch remains, in my opinion, possibly the best meal of the day and the expanding list of restaurants offering a brunch menu suggests most of you agree! As one of the first to truly embrace the idea of a free-flowing bottomless brunch affair Bad Egg in Moorgate frequently appears in listings for one of London’s best and therefore I couldn’t resist the opportunity to visit for a friend’s birthday!
Lilyan Tannous
Mmm not very impressed with the food. We had the had the burger egg burger hash and chicken wings. I didn’t like the hash at all, potatoes were soggy and the meat just didn’t taste good. Wings were yummy but are served with the weirdest sauce; it genuinely tasted like melted skittles, not great. Service was great though and our waitress was very nice. Would I go back? Probably not.
Nitika Tandon
The food was disappointing and so were the servings. The menu seemed very innovative but when the food came on our table and it didn't meet our expectations at all. We ordered breakfast tacos which had 3 small (really small) tortillas with a bit of salsa, guacamole and egg in it. It was mentioned in the main course but had portions of an appetizer. We also ordered bad ass nacos which simply had nachos served in a plate with a little bit of cheese toppled over and fried egg kept on top. Honestly, I can throw these things together and make it at home. Wouldn't recommend this place to anybody.

Great food and once ordered it came out very quickly. The service was a little slow (had to wait for a menu and took a while to take my order). but it was very busy. Overall a good experience. I would come back again

Also pretty enjoyable was this rice krispie ice cream sandwich with salted caramel ice cram and a caramel sauce. I shared with my friend as we were both stuffed but it was so good I probably could have made room for the whole thing. It could easily be too sickly for some but I could handle it. . This was a post-Alcoholic Architecture treat, Bompass and

I bloody love eggs. I'm sure you can tell. I've written about them almost as much as I've warbled on about burgers - and that's ALOT!. They're just so versatile and delicious and healthy. But it's not just me that thinks this - egg restaurants have been popping up all over London because chefs know they're freakin' great too.

away’ rather than ‘eat all my food and make my owner rich’. Add to the mix my fear of cold boiled eggs and. this is the type of place I would normally avoid. However, I trust Chef Neil. Rankin and love his style of food, so I entered, but with suspicion and. It’s a very busy restaurant; its positioning in the

I should mention that I haven't actually been to Bad Egg before. Rather unconventionally my friends and I went for the take-away option, and ordered via Deliveroo. But we still tried the food, so it counts, right?

I had the Cheeseburger Hash and a Dulce de Leche milkshake, whilst my fellow foodies tried: Bad Egg Burger, Korean Pulled Pork Burger, Chilaquiles, Chicken and Anchovy Salad, Fried Chicken Burger, and the Cheeseburger. So basically 90% of the menu.

My Cheeseburger Hash came as a generous portion, loaded with pickles, mustard, burger pieces, and topped with cheese and a fried egg. I enjoyed it immensely, but I couldn't finish it so a few friends had to step in to help. The mustard here is very overpowering, and whereas I love American mustard, my friends do not. It was too much for them. For me it was the pickles - they were too sweet, and not to my taste. This dish is messy, and it does look like they've just thrown in a bunch of leftovers...but it's delicious and filling. Don't overlook it!

My Dulce de Leche Milkshake was a slight letdown though. Made with "artisan ice cream" the flavour was far too subtle, and literally tasted like a tub of melted ice cream. Whereas that's certainly not the worst thing to be served up, it's not what I had been hoping for.

Would I visit Bad Egg again? Yes! My friends and I enjoyed our meals, and I'd love to visit the restaurant, as it could only be better.

A popular brunch spot diner near Barbican. Definitely worth a visit for a weekend brunch with friends. Three courses, unlimited booze and okay service for £30. It doesn't blow your mind, but it's good. Pulled porked, beans, kimchi and sourdough would be my number 1 recommendation.

Bad Egg opened just before Christmas last year and is the latest venture from Scottish barbecue guru Neil Rankin, former head chef of Pitt Cue and John Salt. It is an all-day diner with a hipster bent (but ultimately probably aimed at City boys) – the menu is mostly composed of “dirty” meat dishes with a vague Korean theme (well, at least kimchi appears quite frequently on the menu). The menu is long and muddled: sub-genres are burgers, ribs, eggy things and (strangely) tacos; pricing is reasonable with the most expensive dish at £11. The set up is you would expect – they have the requisite craft beers on hand (from Beavertown, Fourpure and Camden breweries), the decor is stripped back and the furnishings reclaimed.

The food is very enjoyable but similar to other places in London such as John Salt, Spuntino or maybe even Meat Liquor, without a doubt formidable company. But not enough really stood out to distinguish Bad Egg from its brothers and sisters. I do love the fact that it exists, but with all taken into account I much rather continue frequenting Smokehouse, but maybe that is just me.

Korean Pork Tacos Chaat Masala Hash House Burger Ironically, egg was not added onto every dishes that was ordered. So no Korean chicken wings and I still wanted some Korean flavour so came the Korean pork tacos which was a missed match of pulled pork and kimchi, probably not even made in house. Whoever fried the egg on our chaat masala hash, you made the egg looked very lifeless and the yolk was barely there as much as it was enjoyable with a crunch from the peanuts and puffed rice. The house burger was good, with bone marrow added to the juicy patty and served pink. The sauce on it somehow reminds me of the burger sauce you get at late night kebabs shop.

I've harped on about The Good Egg a great deal recently, so it's only fair that I give Bad Egg a shout-out too; not that I need an excuse. Note: I didn't say eggs-cuse. One down. Neil Rankin got everyone's attention as Head Chef at Pitt Cue Co., before teaming up with Noble Inns to launch the outstanding Smokehouse in Islington; a second branch in Chiswick is imminent. Just before Christmas, he opened up Bad Egg in Moorgate, an area full of uninspiring chains....Bad Egg's menu has its fair share of Shakshuka, Huevos Rancheros and Hash showcasing the Arlington White Eggs (from Cackleberry Farm in the Cotswolds), but there's also all manner of Tacos, Fried Pork Belly Ribs and Burgers to choose from. Neil himself describes it as a modern all-day diner, taking inspiration from Chicago's eclectic fusion scene.

Bad Egg is no Smokehouse, and I must apologise to all those other Rankin enthusiasts in the I Heart Neil club, but I leave a little disappointed. I love eggs and I love Rankin, but I don’t love Bad Egg
SamTheFoodFan
Before we get started, let me just make something very clear. Bad Egg is not an ‘egg concept’ restaurant. It may have egg in its name and a section dedicated to eggs, but it’s a diner. And a very good one at that! The latest restaurant from chef Neil Rankin – he of Pitt Cue Co, John Salt and Princess of Shoreditch. I’ve been to all of those and loved them, so I knew Bad Egg would be a good ‘un.

Bad Egg Bel and I had lunch at Bad Egg . It was still in soft opening which is always exciting, like restaurant roulette, but everything was brilliant. In particular this burger (£11), beef, NDUJA CHEESE FONDUE, egg yolk, pickles, onion and mustard. It was magnificent. We also had a side of kimchi, which packed a solid punch and the pulled pork hash (£8.50) but the burger was the one. Loved it.

The hashes and the tacos are the must-tries. With the hashes, all the potato cubes were perfectly crispy and soft and topped with a fried egg with a runny yolk. The chicken fried fish tacos may sound odd but are sensational. Also a lovely list of cocktails.
Love And Limoncello
Love and Limoncello points

1. Bad egg! Certainly a bad egg. Plastic cheese! Greasy food! That summarises this restaurant. Best bit of my meal was the chips.

2. Service well that's wasn't too hot! Felt like the waiter wanted the table back when there wasn't even a queue.

3. I wouldn't ever diarise this place again.

Just before Christmas, he opened up Bad Egg in Moorgate, an area full of uninspiring chains.

Let's get one thing straight - this is not an egg trend. Neither Joel Braham's The Good Egg nor Neil Rankin's Bad Egg are eggy concept eateries - they just have a fondness for the versatile little blighters.

Bad Egg's menu has its fair share of Shakshuka, Huevos Rancheros and Hash showcasing the Arlington White Eggs (from Cackleberry Farm in the Cotswolds), but there's also all manner of Tacos, Fried Pork Belly Ribs and Burgers to choose from. Neil himself describes it as a modern all-day diner, taking inspiration from Chicago's eclectic fusion scene.

Let's start with the booze first though. Camden Pale & Hells are the limited draught options (a couple more would be nice), but there are some top canned beers in the fridges from Beavertown, Fourpure and Kona. There's also prosecco at £7 a glass, and six white and red wines by the glass and bottle, starting at £3.25 for 125ml.

Considering the diner environment, I wasn't expecting much of a cocktail list, but there are some cracking options on there. Misplaced American Arrogance is a must with Ilegal Mezcal, Cocchi Americano and Mesquite Peach. Then there's Argy Bhaji with Kamm & Sons, curried apricot and ginger beer. And if you need something stronger, go for either a Sweetcorn Old Fashioned or a Smoked Olive Martini. Prices go from £8.50 all the way up to £12, which some may think too much for the setting, but the Moorgate locals can probably handle it.

Egged on by our fantastic server Chris, we ordered a range of dishes:

- Nduja Cheese & Fried Egg Fries - full on food porn here with a bit of Heston-style science thrown in to create that gooey Nduja Cheese. Order it when you walk through the door.

- Fried Pork Belly Rib - after a risqué discussion about whether to go Peking or Naked, we opted for the former, covering the double fried rib in soy, hoisin & ginger sauce. DOUBLE FRIED RIBS.

- Chicken Fried Fish Tacos - more food science here to make the fish appear KFC style alongside salsa, chipotle and guacamole. There are three per portion so this is an easy one to share.

- Pulled Pork & Kimchi Hash - with gochujang and a fried egg. It's fairly spicy, and the flavour is full on, so you may want to mix it up with some other dishes rather than take it on by yourself. The salads & slaws help to balance it out.

- Nduja, Black Pudding & Pork Belly Hash - one of Neil's favourites for a reason. This was the winner of the two hashes we tried; very moreish and comforting, with mild spice from the nduja. The hash portion sizes are generous for the £8 price tag.

- Chilaquiles - Fried corn tacos, green salsa, chipotle, guacamole, peppers, chillies and a fried egg. It's a traditional Mexican dish, often eaten for breakfast or brunch. It was served colder than we were expecting, but was enjoyable and a nice veggie option on the table.

- Sides & Slaws - Potato & Dill Salad was better than your average; Cucumber, Avocado & Grapefruit added some colour (and health benefits) ; and Fennel & Apple Slaw was refreshing and worked well with the full flavoured ribs and hash dishes.

We didn't dip in to the burger section as there's so much of interest elsewhere on the menu, but I would get involved on a second visit. The home made cheese fondue with Raclette & Red Leicester sounds to die for.

Desserts are yet to make an appearance on the menu, but there are plans afoot to bring in milkshakes and one or two simple options that don't complicate things in the kitchen too much. If our tasters of a Cornflake Milkshake prototype are anything to go by, they are on the right track.

Verdict: Bad Egg = Good Diner Dinner. The location will limit my visits, but Bad Egg will be of great interest to the local work force who don't have much else to choose from. It's a clever spot for a quick bite to eat either side of a trip to the Barbican, and don't forget it is open for breakfast from 8am. A No Reservations policy makes sense here as tables will turn around quickly. Finally, a big shout out to the outstanding service across the board - there was a real sense of fun and Chris in particular brought the menu to life. Be sure to get a Bad Egg sticker on your way out.

I love eggs. Scrambled, fried, poached, boiled, baked, you name it, I will eat it. When I heard Neil Rankin, the man behind Smokehouse in Islington was opening an eggy concept diner I was indeed looking forward to it. For a fact, I've not been to Smokehouse since anywhere beyond zone 1 is a mission for me to get to. I was unsure what the food will be like, hoping it would be similar to his Smokehouse's food or would it be completely different?

Thank you to the humble social media, I found a menu on Instagram but except it was missing the Korean fried chicken wings on the day on the menu. I know it's a non egg dish, it was something I wanted to order. I was expecting surprises from Bad Egg, some sort of egg revolution. Yes, eggs does play a prominent part on the menu with egg-based dishes from around the world alongside burgers, ribs, tacos and salads. Literally everything that you ordered, you can add an egg if it doesn't already come with an egg. If you were expecting imaginative re-invention of egg, this was not the place.

Ironically, egg was not added onto every dishes that was ordered. So no Korean chicken wings and I still wanted some Korean flavour so came the Korean pork tacos which was a missed match of pulled pork and kimchi. It felt like there was something missing, maybe a quail egg on top? Whoever fried the egg on our chaat masala hash, you made the egg looked very lifeless and the yolk was barely there as much as it was enjoyable with a crunch from the peanuts and puffed rice. The house burger was good, with bone marrow added to the juicy patty and served pink. The sauce on it somehow reminds me of the burger sauce you get at late night kebabs shop.

If I can choose again, I will definitely not order these two dishes. The buffalo sauce is just all wrong on the fried rib, it does not match and it got very salty at the end. It can happily stay on chicken wings, never on ribs. I wanted to feel a bit healthier by ordering greens/salad. The som tam fruit salad was a disaster. There are some fruits that you can pair with fish sauce and spiciness, but not all. I should have went for the fries and fried egg. A mistake I have learnt.

The gimmick of an egg focused diner sounds brilliant, overall I think it is a stretch too far. With many items on the menu are equally enjoyable without the runny yolk. Loads of tweaking can be done before the eggs will shine. On a side note, there are no desserts.
