I’ve been coming to this place for decades as it is something of an institution with crazy opening hours. Something like 11am to 4am if I recall correctly. What you get here is inexpensive and unpretentious Cantonese food. It’s not the best but I know what I’m getting for the £8 or so when I order the wonton and roast duck soup noodles or the beef and black bean sauce ho fun. I read an article that this place had closed permanently due to Covid and impossible rents. I hope permanent closure isn’t the case as this would be a huge loss for China Town.

We came here after midnight for a late dinner. We had the crispy duck with pancakes, but were even more blown away by the black bean broad noodles. Deliciously slippery and sweet-savory. Service feels a bit rushed as they have many diners and many staff to coordinate even at late hours, but food is well worth it.

I had a simple dish, steamed rice and "char siu" pork meat. It was really good and not expensive. The service was also good. I noticed most of the customers in the restaurant were Chinese people which is a good sign :)
To be recommended!

Roast duck on crispy noodles excellent! Could of had 2 plates.... very tasty and very crispy noodles and very well presented!
Only let down is the service. Very miserable waiters. Never mind, definitely be back for the food.

It's always Hungs for roast duck noodles for us when we hit Chinatown. They do decent roasts. Service is fast and efficient. Seating can be cramped

Reasonable price for good meal. Got full for just a bowl like this (roasted duck noodle) 😍

Food was really good and in middle of China town so was all round a good trip

Ok place. They must have improved their service since the previous reviews. Food was ok. Fast and good variety of dishes. Not expensive and be ready to pay in cash.

After most of the good places have closed down in Chinatown (Hollywood Diner, Young Cheng, Mayflower) this is my go to place for a while now, they open till late as well! Good place on your own or with friends!

A quick roast duck noodle soup in Hung's.
Nice flavour and very affordable price.

The service is fast and, typically if the local Chinese restaurants, stoic. The food is tasty and hot. We had roast duck noodle broth with pickled vegetables which was fantastic. The sweet and sour pork ribs, which were small nuggets of rib fried in batter and served with crunchy vegetables. It was okay, too sweet for me. The sweet and sour fried prawns were okay. Again, too sweet for me. The grilled pork dumplings were tasty. We had Chinese tea to drink which was refreshing. Sadly we were sat right next to a very loud group, but the whole environment is very informal so that's to be expected. Especially on a Saturday night. This restaurant is open late, which I really like. I'll be back

Nice and quaint little eat-out. The food was served fresh and was a good portion size. More than enough to share among 2 to 3 people. I liked the crispy roast duck as well as the stir fried vegetables very much.

Great authentic Chinese food- dont count on service

A good value meal (£41 for 2x set menu's + drinks). Food all freshly cooked, tasty and fine, but nothing special. In what we had Restaurant is over several floors, narrow stairs to get to the upper floors. Service was quick to take orders and serve food (unlike other diners reports), but did take a little while to get the final bill. All in all quite a respectable place, no complaints

I have just ordered a takeaway portion of roast duck and soya chicken rice, as a first time tryer I expected a standard double roast with rice. However, as an Asian that did not speak to them in Chinese, they took advantage of this and expected I did not know better.
I saw them packing up a roast duck with rice portion for another customer, which I could see was in a long container and had some veg on the side.

I then ordered and they charged me £8.70, which I didn’t think anything of, and gave me what looked like a very small box, which is usually given for a small rice portion.
I did not check what they had given me as I was rushing home and thought maybe the box was full of an adequate amount of roast meats & rice & some veg, as this is what’s expected when ordering a double roast, and also what I saw was given to the other Asian customer (who spoke to them in chinese).

However, when I opened the box there were 2 pieces of chicken along with a chicken wing chopped in half, and 3 tiny pieces of duck. I ate it anyway as I had already travelled all the way home, but I was furious as I saw that they had given the other customer a full large box of rice and meat.

I then looked up the menu online, and it seems as though a double roast with rice only costs £6.50, so not only did they give me a ridiculously small portion, they also overcharged me.

The staff that served me were two young boys that looked like students. I feel discriminated and scammed. Do not visit here if you don’t speak chinese, they will scam you and assume you don’t know better. I will be visiting again just to complain in person.

Have got ducks hanging at the front window, and worst food hanging inside there, the portions were large enough to feed 2, but flavours were really bad, this food can never make your stomach happy. The worst order was stir fried noodles with Roast duck, I threw the whole thing, it was that bad. Rice with Duck and Pork were edible. Have nothing more to say about this place. Just a cheap place.

Best lobster!. Being half Chinese and having grown up in Hong Kong, I recognise good Chinese food. Hung's is quite good. Roast duck wasn't too fatty, green veg done well, but the reason I specifically went there was for the lobster dish.

Their posters inside advertise a special deal for lobster noodles. I went specifically to try this because my (Chinese) mother and uncle both recommended it. For £16.80 you get a whole lobster cooked well, very tasty, on a bed of noodles which soak up the sauce and juices perfectly. The portions were very generous, and the quality of cooking good. For the amount of lobster served, the price is very good value for money.

The building looks a little run-down, but it's clean inside despite what others have claimed. Even the toilets were clean.

Go and try the lobster... you won't regret it!

Don't go here. This is the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. i went here with a few friends and 2 minutes after ordering our meals came out. The quality was low on average but the pork meal I ordered was unedible. I told the waiter that I wasn't happy with this meal and he began to ignore me. I had to question him 2 more times and his reaction was to call a security man to stand behind me to tell me that because I had tried it I therefore had to pay for it. There was no discussion and I left with a security man following me out. i have NEVER had this kind of treatment in a restaurant and urge you not to take your chances.
Joepep-
Bad Experience. Ended up in this Restaurant last night!!! All I can say is it was probably the worst experience iv had in a restaurant. The staff are very very very very rude. You get the feeling they want to get you in and out as quick as possible. My friend had sweet and sour pork which was honestly the worst thing I have ever tasted, when he said he wasn't going to pay for the dish the waiter decided to get the bouncer to are table to ensure we payed up!! Stay well away from this restaurant!

Worst place ever. Words cannot describe the rudeness of the staff at this restaurant. When ordering, they demanded us to pay for the food before actually eating which is not the policy of that restaurant. When asked why they said it is not for everyone but they want us to pay first. If that's not discrimination then I don't know what is. When handling our clear annoyance the man serving us told us to "shut our faces". We left and will not return.

Want authentic Hong Kong Chinese food? Look no further than Hung's. Just a look in the window will tell you that you will be getting real Canton cuisine. Friendly and helpful service and the best hot pot in Chinatown.
Grumbling Gourmet
With a front window full of hanging and marinading roasted meats, Hung's set their stall out early. It would have been churlish to ignore this carnivorous bounty and, being no churl, we went for a selection of char siu, the honeyed roast pork, along with crispy cubes of belly pork known as siu yuk.

This place is my regular Chinatown haunt and it has barely changed in all the years I’ve eaten here despite a refurb and name change (it used to be called Crispy Duck). It might look tiny but it’s on three floors so don’t be put off if it seems full.
Tehbus
Hung's was very poor. Arriving for an early dinner (about 6.30pm), the minimum £8 spend immediately incensed me. I mean, what is the need? I just wanted a quick plate of rice and meat but was made to order extra bits just to make up the £8 minimum. The fo

This place is nice , cheap and you will get full for sure! Try the rice menu where you could choose three meats . Its very busy during its peak hour but its three floor so you will get a place for sure

Alright is what best describes this place. They serve a pretty generous portion of food, but the flavor is alright. It's better than a lot Chinese restaurants, but it doesn't stick out either. The roast duck I ordered came disappointingly cold, but I wasn't too bothered by it. Good amount of money, though.

What's so special about Hung's is that it's open until VERY late. And I mean late: 4.30am. So, why get a greasy kebab when you can devour some tasty Chinese food? Don't be put off by its ordinary exterior, Hung's serves up generous portions of good food.

The dishes are nice and well presented, and right up your street if you have cravings for Chinese food in the early hours! Hung's is also the place to go for casual meet-ups in the daytime. The staff are attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere is good.

I would recommend the Roast Duck, it just melts away in your mouth.

It's definitely a hard choice choosing from the countless restaurants in China Town so we just randomly picked this one. The inside was really busy for a Tuesday so we guessed it must be good!

The food was alright I ordered the fried noodles with shredded chicken which wasn't the most exciting choice in hindsight. The chicken was really dry but for the price and the size it was ok. We ordered spring rolls and the pork dumplings to start. They were both nice but nothing memorable.

The waiters were a bit rushed, excusable as it was busy but they also forgot my friends order so she had to wait another ten minutes after we got our meals until hers arrived.

Not a terrible experience but not the best. Will definitely try another restaurant next time I'm in the area.

The luring front window full of ducks, reminiscence of a stereotypical Chinatown, little let you suspect of what awaits you inside, even the ground floor is deciving, with a small room housing very few tables. But as soon as you reach the floors above you discover a spacious and bright restaurant, with attentive and efficient staff and mouthwatering food. The portions are abundant and a good value, considered the quality, compared with other establishment in the area. The fact that most of the patrons are chinese gives a certificate of quality to the place. Among the food I sampled, the pecking duck is to die for, the hot and sour soup has a lovely kick and the kung po chicken, once eaten with the chilli it is served with, is delicious. I can't wait to be back!

Looks can be deceiving they say! And now I believe that too! This restaurant may look like one of the many in Chinatown but i've had people swear by this place. On entering you may think that its a tiny place with some 4 odd tables but as you go up the floors..you can easily have a party of 12-15 and you'll get a table. It was super crowded but then again it was a friday and it was Chinatown. The menu is pretty extensive with a wide variety of dishes. They also had a decent wine menu. We were a group of 7 and each paid around 15-20 pounds per person. They have set meals for 2/3/4 people as well which allow you to have crispy duck, 2 main courses and rice. I ordered the Kung pao chicken with egg fried rice. Their kung pao was good and the best was the water chestnuts in it. Quantity is good for one person I'd say. Others had ordered spring rolls, soups, veal(which was a bit chewy), beef and pork dishes. The vermicelli was also great. All in all people were pretty happy with their meal. However the bill is a bit tough to calculate when you're splitting. Everything is in chinese so you might want to get help from the servers there. Its a great little place to get your chinese craving fixed. Recommended!
