Dinner in silk courthouse hotel yesterday as we were giving a virgin experience day ticket. 3 course dinner for 2 and a glass of bubbly.
Surrounding were lovely, menu presented in a leather bound "brief case"
Were were greated by a lovely waitress luminita, food was great, service was great. My only personal complaint was for me the duck breast was overcooked. ( I like it pink) and the music was a bit loud.
Over all a good night and lovely meal.

Delicious meal and great service in a historic setting.
This has been one of my favorite meals in London, an easy 5 star. The menu is and eclectic mix of Asian cuisine and cooked perfectly. The service was on point too. All of this in the setting of the former Great Marlborough Street Magistrates Court (Oscar Wilde, Mick Jagger and John Lennon) makes for a brilliant meal.

Food here was very yummy (although pricey even with a taste card). Waiters were lovely and organised a cake for my friend's birthday. Also a beautiful quiet room with a really special feel. Overall great for special occasions

Wow what delious food we were served at this restaurant. We had a 3 course meal and no dish failed to stimulate our taste buds. The fusion of the different flavours was just magic. Massive compliments to the chef. The Melbec washed our meal down nicely. The waiting staff were so professional and friendly, nothing was too much to ask. The venue itself was historic, an old court house. I would defo charge the staff there guilty of abusing my senses lol A very pleasant evening and looking forward to returning with friends.

Good Resturant , very polite and helpful staff.
Menu presentation need to be more clear being a Michelin star resturant. Enjoyed my main dish of tandoori lamb but very disappointed with presentation of the dish . Starter was good but the prawns did not at all look like tiger or jumbo prawns, again disappointed with with presentation .

The meal was lovely... Especially for a virgin experience. The staff were attentive. Only let down was even though I wanted sparkling water they should have said it was extra... Save some embarrassment.

Nicely located hotel but not a five star , the lobby needs to be refreshed in terms of decoration and the breakfast should offer more options ( lots are industrial bread and juices, jam ) i did not see much about the breakfast service it is more you going to pick your tea and coffee BUT the rooms looks more modern , very comfortable king size bed , clean room .if you need a baby bed well for us there was no mattress so baby had to sleep with us.the TV is big but in case of issue be careful we did not get a fast answer..the concierge was adorable and very helpful.so the mixed experience that we got push me to give 4 stars .

The Silk Restaurant is situated in the 5* Courthouse Hotel just off of Carnaby Street near the Liberty department store. One of the most original aspects of this restaurant is the fact it is set in a former magistrate’s court and features the original judge’s bench, dock and witness stand from its days as the Great Marlborough Street Magistrates Court!
Halal Chronicles
The Silk Resturant is the architectural focal point of the Courthouse Hotel and michelin recommended. Once a real magistrates court, the place retains its character with wood panelling, judges bench and dock combined with a far eastern influence in keeping with its asian fusion inspired menu. The lamb and chicken is halal only. Starters consisted of pan seared scallops with artichokes and strawberries and tiger prawns with pineapples. The fruit against the scallops and prawns was a unique yet refreshing combination.

Silk is a restaurant hidden inside the Courthouse Doubletree Hotel. What makes this a place so unique that used to be a Grade II listed magistrates' court building and you get to dine within a room that has history soaked into the oak-panelled room – formerly the infamous Number One Courtroom. This location makes for a romantic setting or a girly catch up in a quirky environment. From the moment you walk into the small courthouse you can picture what it must have been like when it was a functioning room, you are really taken back with the intimate setting, there's a definite wow factor.

When seated the waiter gave me and my friend a brief history lesson about the silk trade shipping path that was on a large world map on the wall, which is where the restaurant gets its name from. The restaurant is small, despite this there were only a few eating here.

The food is best described as a fusion of Indian and Asian cuisine. The menu wasn't the most extensive and choices were a little limited, for starters I ordered the Patani Machli, which is Tilapia fish marinated and seared in a Banana Leaf along with the Poh Pia Je, Thai style vegetable spring rolls. I was very surprised with the lack of care and attention give to the presentation of both starters, it looked sloppy with little attention and care given. The spring rolls were unimaginative and dull, it was just some shredded carrot and vegetables in a dim dim roll. The Tilapia was better but lacked any real flavour and taste.

For the main course I ordered the Kappario Chicken, semi dry chicken juliennes with a sweet basil sauce - which is basically small pieces of cut chicken my friend went for the Hainanese Chicken - corn-fed chicken breast with a soya and spicy dip - both meals were accompanied with rice. Now, I rather enjoyed my main course which simple and tasty, I liked the texture of small pieces of chicken, good meal. However, my friend's chicken was really poorly cooked, it was tough, dry and wasn't an enjoyable experience and at £18 it's shocking. The Chicken was verbally confirmed as being Halal.

Service was nothing outstanding, they were happy to accommodate us moving seats as I wanted to sit on the judge's bench.

So food was hit and miss, I picked some good choices, I don’t think its worth the money, however as is almost custom, you are paying for the arena to eat in and not the food. It’s a great place to eat due to its uniqueness and the character of the room.

I'm glad I used my tastecard which gave me 50% off food and a discount of 24 quid, the total was just under £40

Food - 2.5
Value - 3 with tastecard/ 2 without
Service - 3.5
Atmosphere/environment - 4.5
