I think this is the best coffee ever. Love the interior. Love the sandwiches. Love the cakes. Love the coffee. Love the vibe. The pastrami sandwich is to die for

I visited just once in 2009 when I was at uni! I'm reviewing as I just flashed back to the most fantastic cake Ive ever eaten. This orange and almond cake that was so unexpectedly perfect that it appears in my mind and on my taste buds frequently (mouth still watering in 2022) . If I get confirmation it's still being served there I'll make the trip to Ealing for sure but I just don't want to be the wally that showed up 13 years later asking for something that no one has ever heard about.

Excellent pastries, service, and coffee. Their ‘scrollsant’ is such a hit with everyone I’ve ever introduced it to. I was curious when I saw the sign of no prams allowed and understood (if not agree) completely why the policy came in place. I’m a pram user myself and have always felt conscious and guilty of taking up space that others could otherwise use.

Haven't been here for ages. Seems to have had a face-lift but still doing great snacks and good coffee. Excellent non meat sausage roll, perfect reviver post gym.

I'm a frequent customer for their sandwiches and sweet pastries. So far these have been some of the best I've tried in the area. Service is fast and staff very friendly. Have always gotten takeaway so far but looks quite cosy inside as well, so probably worth sitting down at some point.

Lovely local cafe, friendly barista very kindly served me even though I turned up 1 minute before closing time - great coffee. Will definitely return!

The new owners have expanded the food options and the choice is delicious, loving the scrollants especially. Coffee is as good as ever, and the place is much brighter inside.

Fab food, great choice. The soup was lovely. My friends had a roll with salad. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff with a great sense of humour!!!
I'm not local but will remember Munson's next time I'm in the area.
Parking in the adjacent road was £1 per 30 mins. Well worth it!

Munsons is a fantastic cafe with such a vibrant and welcoming vibe! The decor is classic and charming. And the treats are delish! One of my favourites.

Such a great cafe and loved my honey latte.

Great little coffee shop serving healthy food and good coffee. Very helpful and friendly service. Lots of small tables outside continental style on a sunny corner, good for watching the World go by.

I love the coffee and the food that you serve. I have been visiting your cafe for many years now and I am so happy that Covid-19 has not forced you to close. I am looking forward to the honey latte this weekend:)

Very authentic coffee shop. This place is a hidden gem among the pebbles of South Ealing road. Oozing with elegance, this establishment is a must go for any classy gent. "Munsons" is reminiscent of central perk from friends, busy yet cozy this is a perfect place for a catch up between two old friends, or a place to make new friends.

Good coffee!

I like it!. I have been going to Munson's for maybe 2 years now, or so, regularly. It's a lovely place with very well tasting coffee, very relaxed, seating outside, on the sunny side of the road. Cakes and (hot or cold) sandwiches are nice, and when you eat in you get a bit of salad with it as well. So have been for a few lunches too. Help yourself to tab water flavoured with slices of orange or lemon.
As you may have noticed, I in no way have shared any similar bad experiences as other note, so I'd honestly recommend the place. Or maybe I shouldn't and keep it for myself. :)

Lovely Place! Lovely Staff!. This is a lovely place with pleasant, friendly staff. This place is clean, quiet and very comfortable.
I felt I had to write this in response to all the negative comments I had read about the place. The people who wrote them sound as rude and unfriendly as they accuse the staff of being. I have been several times and have always felt welcome.

I have never written an online review before, however the service I received today in Munson's was so poor that I felt compelled to warn people off giving this place anymore business.
If you go after midday there is a very poor selection of food. The staff are unhelpful and don't seem to understand the concept of customer service. I waited 20 mins for a takeaway coffee.
Worst of all, the man who appears to be the owner is arrogant and rude. He actively seeks to make his customers feel unwelcome and intimidated.
I'm surprised this place this still open given how bad these reviews are, but assume it is purely down to being the only coffee house in that area. I hope a professional who actually knows something about catering and customer service comes along and opens up close by so that people aren't forced to give these people business.
Finally, their arrogantly call themselves an San Fransisco style coffee shop. They are not. They are a bog standard, below par cafe with no charisma or style.

I will never go there again. I felt so aggravated by my first and what will definitely be my last visit to Munson's this morning that I actually searched out a forum to overtly complain about this place. Therefore I am not at all surprised to find so many people have complained about this place here already. But I am surprised that the owner/management clearly are so arrogant that they have no intention of listening to any of us. Firstly no one greets you when you arrive, you are left to stand there and work out whether its seat yourself, or waitress service or whether you are to choose from a central isle of food first and then find somewhere to sit. no one offered me a menu or pointed out the choices available. The 3 people standing there offered nothing. I had to ask if they had any hot food, to which I was told they could heat up one of a very limited selection of baguettes and bagel sandwiches. Virtually no choice for vegetarians. I can't believe this place has such a limited menu. Then they refused to take cards which I find utterly incredulous in 2013 Ealing London. I was sent to the local off licence to get cash back!! which cost me 80p for the pleasure on top of a minimum spend of £10 to have it. This coupled with the £1.20 per hour parking was getting me in £12 and I hadn't eaten anything yet. I was actually really annoyed as I now walked back to the cafe, and queued up again!! I quietly took it up with the girl on the till, because yes you have to queue to pay before you eat like some cheap egg and chip cafe. I explained that they needed to revise their policies if they wanted to offer a more enjoyable experience for customers. To which she refused to look me in the eye and just said point blank, " we dont take cards" like I was some idiot for expecting to pay by debit card!! and I had suffered some sort of amnesia in the last 15 mins since I had arrived trying to get a cup of coffee. Yes I know that! what I wanted was to be heard and she just seemed aggravated by me. She did say "well you will have to remember we dont take cards when you come next time wont you!!!!
I reluctant paid the surly disconnected girl and waited no one told me I could sit down and they would bring anything, I had to ask. I then sat outside actually feeling I wanted to leave, and my sandwich was brought out "take away" style wrapped up no plate etc. At which point I had to ask where my coffee was. I waited for that to arrive and it came in a paper cup. I couldn't even bother to complain. So this morning cost me almost £25 for a bagel with tuna in a bag, and small paper cup of coffee. Awful place, unimaginative food, lack of service or attention to clients and ridiculous policy of cash only. People should avoid this place until someone starts taking us the clients seriously I alone would be worth £1196 per year as a potential weekly client. Wake up and smell the coffee guys

Awful service. I'm not surprised that it has so many negative reviews. I've been in twice and that's two times too many.

Avoid this awful place!. Very Rude! The main guy who runs this place is incredibly unpleasant. I would never have believed that buying a cup of coffee could be a humiliating experience but he did his best to make it so. I have heard bad things from other people about the service at Munson's subsequently - unfortunately they currently have very little competition but I won't be going back.

Good Food. We are frequently in this area for London College of Music meetings at UWL. It has always been difficult to find a decent cafe nearby. Munson's fits the bill. I had one of the best bowls of carrot & coriander soup I've ever had with a lovely pot of butter & great chunk of bread. Ok - it's a tad overpriced but I don't mind for good food. My service was quick and the tea was also good. Many LCM workers have arranged to meet here again for lunch in February.! Thank you Munson's!

Terrible, terrible, terrible. This cafe is a joke, and I can't see why some people love it so much. I've walked past it many times and this morning I sat down in one of the outside tables to wait for service. It was a quiet Monday morning with three other tables occupied, and four servers standing behind the counter looking bored. As soon as I sat down a waitress came out to collect cups from the table beside me, looked at me, gave me no greeting and walked off. I assumed she had gone to get her pen and pad to take my order, but instead all four servers watched me sit there for about ten minutes. Obviously there is no table service, but as there was no sign to say this, couldn't one of the staff have come over and offered up this information instead of standing there watching me wait? If it had been jam-packed I'd (maybe) understand but the place was very empty.

After ten minutes I got up and as I was walking off past one of the tables a man who I think is the manager was clearing some plates. I asked him if there was table service and he said no. I shrugged and went to walk off, and he said gruffly, 'well what do you want?', at which point I said I'd go and spend my money in a cafe that actually has service.

There is absolutely no reason why a cafe like this can't have table service, especially when there are five other places within a five minute walk, who are actually happy to have your business and also take cards (I can't take businesses that don't take cards seriously). These jokers need to wake up and learn about a little thing called customer service.

Go to Freddos at E'Broadway instead. I have to agree with most of the reviews above. The service was not friendly and I waited 10 mins for a coffee (which I consider very small and overpriced)

After waiting 5 mins for my drink I checked with one of the staff to ensure my order had been passed on, she told me "Yes, but you are one of many orders he has to make up"

I wish I had cancelled my order and left.

Go to Freddos in Ealing Broadway (near the tesco along from the tube station) as their coffee is delicious, adult size and their cakes lovely - as are their staff.

Great coffee and good quality food if a bit pricey. A realy good spot in the sun out front. I would go here everyday if the staff had any kind of ability at creating a rapour with the customers. I've been going here for seven years and there has never been the slightest bit of recognition from any of the staff or management. No 'hello, how are you today?' or even a nod. It's amazing that it is so incredibly lacking in customer service when it gets everything else so right.

Good local coffee shop I love this place although there is a bit of good bad and ugly to it In reverse order: The ugly - the decor and general ambience is almost too perfect. It's the sort of place someone would shoot an Orange mobile phone advert. With an Ellis goulding song in the background. The sort of thing Starbucks spends billions on trying to replicate across the world. In short, a bit rare but lovely. The bad 2.50 for a Mocha is towards the top end of what i'll pay for a cup of coffee. A lot of people seem to have complained about the service but I've always found them to be polite if not effusive. Perhaps everyone just expects an Orange ad where everyone's your best mate just itching to send you a cat video from youtube. The good The food and coffee is first class. The pastries may or may not be made onsite but the sandwiches and coffee are lovely. All in all a super, if a touch expensive, genuinely local coffee shop that is the perfect antidote to the Starbucks uniformity so prevalent elsewhere.

Worst coffee experience ever!. What an appalling place - the poorest customer service I have ever experienced anywhere - the manager has an atrocious attitude and talks to you like you're an idiot. paired with the average coffee and drinks coming late and 5 minutes apart (having had to go back and ask where my coffee was??!??!) these people dont deserve your money. And it's way overpriced. Thank goodness we have the internet to raise our concerns, the manager of Munsons certainly doesn't listen!

Good Coffee. As I seem to be working nearby. Well we'll see how long that lasts. This place is my new coffee shop.
The coffee is great, lots of flavour and not bitter like other coffee shops I've tried.
The sandwiches are really good, but too pricey for my wallet, so they will have to be a once in a blue moon treat.
I've had no problems with the staff, all seem really friendly
Wildmaster20
Rude Owner !!!. I must say that the staff especially the manager are not so friendly - suffice to say rude and arrogant is me being kind.

They seem more interested in taking you rmoney rather than being hospitable & friendly.

The friendliness towards you seems to be very false as I visited the place several times and not once did the staff recognise me yet they gave the impression that they did.

The only promising thing I could think of was that the sandwiches did look good to eat but the prices are just not realistic for what they have on offer.
I would rather take my business and hard earnt money to one of the many other fine cafes in Ealing

IMHO - To sum up the walk to this place is not worth it.

Bad Customer Service and Care. I was disgusted by the Customer Service I was given from the Owner of this coffee shop, I live in the area and was recommened to try this coffee shop by my flatmate, I was using it for a while once or twice a week in the mornings before work take outs and sit in which there is a very friendly welsh man that works there. Only one morning I decided to have a take out coffee and could not find my money in my bag to pay for the coffee and put my bag on the counter to look for it and only to be told to get my bag off the counter by the Owner which I thought was rude so at this stage I was more concerned of where my money was to pay for the coffee so I went home to find my money came back to mention why he was so rude to me he said "you could have broken my crisps with your bag on the counter they are very fragile" im quite a small fragile person myself and could not belive the response and rudeness by this person so I never bought or will buy a coffee from this place again there was no Customer care or no Customer Service. ( you will never get this kind of service anywhereelse in a coffee shop)

If you desire good coffee, good pastries, fast service and friendly servers, visit this venue. They occasionally have a board outside the place on the pavement, with a witty quote. Try their home-made almond croissant with a double espresso. Dunk and voilà.

Picked up a morning double espresso here every now and then, but never sat down for it. Always found a lot of kids and strollers everywhere, at times inside as well making it difficult to move.

The coffee and the sandwiches none the less were excellent, fresh and did the job of waking me up in the morning before classes.

Do pop in, if you notice it does not seem like a day care inside.
