The duck was disappointingly tough and underseasoned but the rest of the meal was delicious. The escargot and créme brulee were the best I've had outside of Paris. Nice little bistro with an impressive bar selection, tucked away on the south bank.

The lunch set menu was really good value and excellent quality. Loved the Prawn Cocktail on toast, and the Pan Fried Seabass with a lemon and butter sauce, these were perfect and I’d highly recommend them! Also we enjoyed the Duck Rillettes and Brevette Steak buried under a pile of shallots. All washed down with a pleasant Carafe of enjoyable House red, we’ll definitely be back for more again soon.

Cosy French Brasserie with quirky vintage interior furnishings. Great location right outside Putney railway station. We tried both the set lunch menu (a superb bargain at £15 for 2 course & £18 for 3 courses) and also ala carte. Their set menu of prawn cocktail toast starter & seabass main was excellent - good cooking! Loved their duck rillettes with toast. Their bavette steak was cooked medium rare topped with shallot sauce which was recommended- however, I felt there was way too much shallots for a thin slice of steak. But nonetheless, cooking was good. Accompanied by half carafe of house red wine. Rounded up to about £66/couple with service included which was super decent for good food quality & friendly service (our waiter Diego was kind) in a great location. Would return again - a lovely neighbourhood restaurant that doesn’t break the bank.

Excellent lunch (4hrs!), visited once again (not often enough) service was good seeing how busy they were, the two staff were working hard but still managed to get everyone served in a friendly and professional manner, the food is really very good, I can recommend the lamb 😀, good selection of wines and beers all in all a perfectly acceptable lunch.
I will be going here again.

Enjoyed the dinner, we love all the dishes
Classic French dish, Cassoulet, you should try it if not yet
My personal favourite is risotto, taste just about right. Creamy but not too rich to finish the whole dish
Soufflé was sold out so ordered Breizh instead. It is a big surprise and I am really happy that soufflé sold out. It comes big portion…I ended up having too much that night
It is a bit expensive, 132 for 3 people. But The overall experience is good and food are tasty
The service is good, but I can feel they were rushing to get our bill checked (they’ve been waiting and we sit 20 minutes after the close time)

Good food no complaints but nothing exceptional. Would recommend the tarte tatin(apple tart)

Lovely food - very full of flavour.
Service was helpful.
Venue was dog friendly too - thank you Gazette Putney for allowing us to sit inside your restaurant with our little four-legged boy!

The perfect local restaurant I often visit when I miss French food. The cuisine is always great, the menu is diverse and the staff very helpful, and prices are very reasonable. Madeleine and soufflé are to try, tartare is prepared in front of you, the express lunch is typical of a French brasserie, quick, efficient and good. Dinner setting to meet friends or simply to enjoy being out.

Delicious breakfast. I had the champignon and a Nutella crepe, absolutely delightful. And certainly not a ‘petit’ dejeuner for the Champignon! Great portion size! Wonderful place, do check it out! (Great soundtrack of French music as well)

Our first meal out after lockdown and we had a fabulous meal as always at Gazette. Wonderful service, authentic French experience, and amazing food. Our favourite special occasion restaurant in Putney. So glad these guys are still on their feet and going strong.

It was brilliant and I’d go again in a second. Michael our waiter was outstanding and made me the best steak tartare! Thank you

We keep coming back here, very good food, comfortable and conveniently located.
Just one star less in overall because nothing specifically memorable other than the friends I have been together with.

When I arrived at this place only 2 tables were occupied so including me there were only 3 tables. I thought that I will get my food pretty early because of the fact that they do not have a lot of people to serve but i was very wrong on my part I had to wait for a long to get my meal and even after the long wait my food was not at all hot.
I will not be going to this place ever again.
Sorry guys.

Well it's a lovely place with good atmosphere and decor, vey friendly staff and good service and an enticing menu.

Quality of the food however is average at best, execution of everything was very heavy handed and lacked refinement. At 90 quid for 2 people with minimal alcohol, you expect better.

Goats cheese salad to start was drowned in dressing and went seriously overboard on the amount of cheese too. Snails were tasty although I have very little experience.

Main course steak was a decent piece of meat, but the frites were a serious disappointment, they looked enticing but kind of crumbled like dry cardboard when you bit them and seemed to contain no actual potato inside.

Chicken oyster pasta was nice, but again showed a lack of skill with the asparagus criminally overlooked... Basic really.
