Excellent find - authentic dishes with amazing flavours and very warm, attentive, welcoming staff who are well informed and friendly. Overall, a wonderful way to spend a Sunday evening.
Lovely ambience and just the right distance between tables which is quite rare we find at central London restaurants.
A big thank you to Adi and The Bombay Palace team!

This is one of my most favorite restaurants in London.
After they revamped the place, the interiors and decor has become even better.
Excellent and courteous service, food to match for and fabulous choices for vegetarians.
Went there twice in span of 7 days. That says a lot for their food and service.
Their black daal is a must have.
Highly recommended for true Indian food.

This Resturant was recommended to me by the hotel conceirge. I went around 7 PM and I was seated immediately. I had an amazing service, great atmosphere and superb food.
Not too loud, you can easily converse with your company which is something that’s been lacking in restaurants lately.
We ordered Butter chicken, vegetable beryani and Punjabi Samosa which were all so good and cooked to perfection.
Richard Dill
I had a great experience dining in this location. The staff where friendly and attentive and the food is some of the best Indian food I’ve ever had. Pictured is the chicken tikka masala and the samosa chaat. The samosa chat was a surprise for me, one of my favorite options ever. I highly recommend this restaurant.

One of the best Indian restaurants in London.
Excellent and very friendly service, with exceptionally good food.
It is a very relaxing environment, not too loud and with the tables nicely spaced out allowing for a very enjoyable experience.
We have eaten here a number of times with family and friends and would highly recommend it as a high quality Indian restaurant.

Thank you for providing delicious food (Biryani rice + Butter Chicken) 👍and hospitality restaurant. 🙏 London UK 🇬🇧

Absolutely lovely and authentic Indian. Had amazing starters, especially the golgappe, dahi bhalla chaat, and samosa chaat. Also amazing service managed by Mr. Robert Pinto. The gajar ka halwa is also a must try!

Absolutely lovely meal here. The lamb was out of this world. Hands down the best Indian restaurant in London, with delightful service to boot. Highly recommend.

After being stood up by my date, this place soothed my sullen heart with the best Indian culinary experience I have ever had. Their extremely friendly service was most welcomed, attending to every need.
Being unfamiliar with Indian cuisine, I asked for assistance. They promptly sent a specialist over to advise me on a set of dishes that simply blew me away. Highly, highly recommend.

The Bombay Palace was recommended by a friend. We went there with high expectations and their food and service were higher than we expected. Great food and superb service.
I would recommend anytime!!!

Bombay Palace food was just awesome and made to perfection.
Amazing culinary and authentic India cuisine.
I took a couple of clients there in the beginning of the week and they enjoyed the experience, went there again twice in the same week.
The service was superb and ambience perfect for my guests.
Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy authentic North Indian cuisine.

This is an incredible Indian restaurant. It’s a little hidden but within walking distance of Marble Arch and Paddington.
It’s a high class establishment but will good value prices. Food is excellent and staff wonderful.
Everything was delicious - lamb chops a little pricey, but taken together everything was worth it.
A super find if you are in London and want somewhere to impress of just enjoy a quiet meal.

Delicious food and great service, all the staff very welcoming and helpful, make sure to order prawns biryani 👌🏼

Pricey > food taste and authenticity did not meet our high expectations!
Nevertheless better than most Indian restaurants in londres.
Service, atmosphere, location 10/10.

I had the great pleasure of dining here on a Sunday night; I found the staff courteous, polite and prompt, the food was heavenly and otherworldly, prepared with care and expertise and the atmosphere that permeated the place was simply fitting of such a sophisticated place. I found the place clean and efficient, with a menu rich in the food proposals. Would recommend hands down to anyone craving a good indian dining experience in London.

This place was suggested by a friend and I must say it was a surprise to find authentic indian food. The mango lassi was the winner as it is the best I have had ever outside India.Tried their navratan biryani and karahi paneer. Not to forget the alu paratha is a must try!!

Wonderful! Worth the walk for me-the cheese curds are my favorite! I will be back. Fantastic wine list as well....
There was even a hot towel at the end of the meal....

Awesome yummy indian food for the people who missing home food... the indian manager is so kind n makes you to eat more. Should eat anything in the menu will give you complete satisfaction... loved it

We visited this place after seeing their good reviews on Zomato but I must say I was disappointed with the service and the taste of food. We ordered angari chicken which was way too salty and tangy. Chilli paneer had less paneer and more chilli. Chicken gravy and the rice were bland. May be its customized the Indian taste to suit the British palatte but for me it was a complete no, both in terms of price and taste.

Last night was my second visit to this fine Indian eatery. Located on a quiet street just off Hyde Park and Bayswater Road you will find the service good and the food better. For starters try the Dosa, Sammi Kebab ,Pakoras and the Samosas. Mains that please are Chicken Tikka, with perhaps the yellow Dal, Sag Paneer, and Aloo Gobi. Nice Ambience, helps but can be a bit pricey$$$$.
We had a wonderful dinner experience here after a long day of sightseeing. This was a great find some blocks away from Paddington Station - about a 10-15 minute walk. The host made some great menu suggestions as he could tell we weren't from around here. We started with meat filled samosas with zesty tamarind sauce and ragara pattice. For main entrees, I got the lamb curry stew roganjosh kashmiri and hubby got the roasted lamb baloushi raan - which was a large portion of meat. Flavors & spices were intense, aromatic - yet balanced. We were stuffed silly and did not make it to dessert. I would enjoy trying other dishes at this restaurant - they looked great going by to other tables.

One of the best Indian food in London.... This one is really authentic and can safely say one of the best Indian food in London. All the dishes daal makhani, kadai paneer, chicken and lamb kababs, rogan josh etc are with exact original spices and taste...If you are looking for genuine Indian cuisine, a place to be.

This upmarket Indian restaurant has a touch of finesse, but still makes sure you leave feeling very well fed.
Andy Hayler
Chicken tikka was pleasant, the chicken cooked through properly though rather oily (2/10). Tandoori prawns were cooked properly, a fraction overcooked but not badly so (1/10). Channa masala had chickpeas that had good texture and pleasant spicing (2/10) though an aloo gobi was less good, the vegetables having an odd, powdery texture in places (0/10). Romali roti was poor, heavy when it should be ultra-light (0/10); in contrast, naan bread was good, and indeed the best part of the meal (3/10).

The sauce was pleasant and tasty, although not particularly spicy, and the dish could have been hotter in temperature.

I went to this place with bunch of friends to have authentic Mughlai. We had dal makhni, Kadhai paneer and malai kofta. I really like Kadhai paneer although dal was ok. The restaurant has decent ambience and service. I surely recommend bombay palace.

Best tradional Indian. Channa masala, aloo gobi, yellow dal, dai puri. Must try all chaats. Service is excellent. Decor also old Indian. Try.
The Culinary Passage
I must admit that I was somewhat skeptical of Bombay Palace high rating. However, the restaurant was within walking distance of our hotel. My friend and I had a hankering for Indian food - something that isn’t readily available to us at hotel we stay.

Thankfully, I’d made a reservation earlier in the day because the place was full when we arrived.

The owner himself was there, directing at the entrance of restaurant. He was obviously enjoying himself, greeting diners as if they were guest at his home and assisting those unfamiliar with the menu. His enthusiasm was contagious. He seems to have found his calling in this, his retirement project.

The restaurant is large and well stocked bar and amazing wine lists to pair with Indian food, the tables were BIG. This is definitely a neighborhood place for a fine dining destination.

The menu has some very interesting choices, a number of which are “street snacks” not usually found on a restaurant menu. This allows you to make a meal of small plates if you desire. We shared our dishes. We ordered for Onion Bhajee, Dahi Batata Puri and Chilli Chicken for appetizers. The Chilli Chicken was to die for. For the main we ordered Nalli Gosht, Chicken Korma along with Butter Naans and Jeera Pulao. The Jeera Pulao was a bit let down and the rest of the dishes were true to the taste. We downed them with few bottles of Kingfisher beers. The cost for two was around £155.00. It was worth it.

After a few days in the Uk, I was craving for some spices to tantalize my taste buds. After a lot of online research and due to our laziness of not travelling too far, we decided to try out bombay palace. The decor wasn't anything exceptional but it was mellow and classic. We orderd the gingerlet as drinks which was suppose to have gin, lime and ginger but there was no taste of ginger... Infact it had no taste at all so.we added.7up in order to drink it. Disappointed with the.drinks, I.was hoping Atleast the food to be good and making our walk in the cold winter worthwhile. For starters we ordered jaipuri blindi and samosa. The samosa was crispy and nicely spiced which came accompanied with a tamarind chutney. The Jaipuri bhindi had a light gramflour batter on it with a good taste of dry mango powder. It was crispy and tasty. For mains we ordered dal Makhani, butter chicken, aloo gobi, pomegranate raita and assorted breads. The butter chicken wasn't authentic butter chicken you get in delhi but it was tasty nonetheless. The dal was creamy and tasty and the pomegranate raita was fruity and fresh with the addition of mint. The gobi was slightly overcooked and the breads were a disappointment. The naan wad very thick and doughy unlike Indian bread. It was more like a Pakistan bread. The paratha was deep fried and not how it's made india. But overall the flavours were there. However I won't come back here because the service was poor. We had asked for a bottle of Water, which never got served and our food took quite a while to be served. When we asked for the bill. We had to repeat ourselves and, wait 10 minutes before we decided to walk out without paying in order to get their attention. With proper service and better breads, this restaurant will be on my recommendation list but till then...give it a miss

The food at this place is delicious and the staff is pretty generous and polite. We ordered a tasting menu, of which, most of the dishes tasted great and took us a while to decide which one to go for. We've tried the chef's special as well and it was exquisite. I would love to come back to this place again.

What i really do not like about eating out now a days is the 15% service charge ,which according to me is quite unpleasant. The concept of this amount is beyond me! I do not comprehend it at all. The place has a very modern decor and nice interior. The taste of the food was pretty decent in my opinion. A good place though.
Noah Blake
I have visited this restaurant before also and I strongly believe that the place is exorbitantly priced. The quality of food is excellent and the it is very well made and very well presented. The menu also has an extensive list of unique dishes. I would recommend this restaurant if you don't mind paying a great amount of money for your food.
Katie Wilkins
This place was a very happy discovery! It is one of the really good restaurant serving Indian cuisine. The ambiance of this place too is very traditional and authentic owing to the great attention to details like the furnishing and the decor. The crowd here was of Indian families which was a good sign.
I really like the cuisine but i would not call myself an expert. Regardless, i can say that the food here was amazing and the ambiance delightful. The service too was fantastic. The prices are also appropriate as per the quality delivered.
I definitely suggest to try this place out!
Harrison Wells
The staff here were exceptionally polite and very cooperative. The service was one of the best ever. The food here was very delectable and served in huge portions, so much so that we had to take some home. The red wine from India complimented the spicy chicken and lamb and brought out the flavours in it. The hygiene of this place is specially commendable. Highly recommended!

I came to this place to have dinner with a friend, and we were in the mood for some nice and tasty curry. However, all the places we knew served watery curry that had an awful taste. We looked this place up on the internet, and it had a pretty nice rating so we decided to try it out. The food was actually really tasty, and there were some very unique dishes in the menu. I had chicken livers for appetizers and found that the place has a really nice way of plating their dishes. The service was pretty quick and nice too. There is some very nice and smart decor in the place, and the atmosphere is very lively and fun.
Arthur Giles
The place serves Indian cuisine. The dish that we were served was extremely hot and spicy, even though we did not ask for it to be that spicy. We have eaten at a lot of Indian restaurants and have never had anything as hot as this dish. The service is great here. The food is neither too expensive nor too cheap.
Georgia Murphy
This restaurant was quite crowded for a weeknight ,which only speaks about the quality of the place. The service here was not exactly efficient and i wish they could have been more prompt and attentive to the needs of the customers. The dishes though were delivered in good time. The food in general was quite tasty but for the one fish dish which was quickly replaced. Others were quite flavorsome.
But i was shocked to see the humongous extra charge of 50 pounds for the extra wine bottle.
Finlay Freeman
I am very fond of Indian cuisine, and I have a very discerning palate for them. If my opinion was to be considered, then I would have to say that this is one of the best Indian options in the entire city. They serve really nice food, and it is made up of very fresh ingredients and it tastes delicious. The service and staff were both amazing and excellent, and they have a very large and roomy dining hall. It is very clean and well-kept and although, the food is on the pricier end, it is a really good place to visit if you like Indian food.
Vaishnavi Andra
This place is a very well-known Indian option in the city, and it has a very nice menu, which provides just the right balance between uniqueness and tradition. They had both a really nice staff and amazing service to compliment some delicious food. They also have a facility to provide rooms for groups. I really like Tadka Daal, and at most places it is actually very watery, but here it was perfectly cooked.
Jamie Kay
I had a really good time at this restaurant. In fact this is one of those rare places in the city which serves traditional Indian cuisine. The service was pretty quick and efficient with the food being served hot and fresh. The free supply of water too was substantial. In my opinion, the biriyani served here is as good as it can get!
Mayank Contractor
I came to visit this place on a weekday evening for dinner, and it was fairly packed and lively. I always consider this to be a good sign. It was actually true. The food was all very brilliant. I had the papads, and they were very nicely fried, and tasted light and fluffy. The unique menu was additionally enticing. The only thing lacking here was the environment, which was ruined by the bad choice of music.
Lola Visage
I was very content with the place. Though, i went there for my friend's 50th birthday. The ambiance is very soothing and beautiful. They served us with great and delicious canapes before the meal. The meal was superb and was presented very well. The staff was also very friendly and efficient. His birthday bash was a great success and I had a good time there.
Reuben Morrison
I dined here the night before, after their recent renovation of the place, and it was not a good start. The manager was insolent and obnoxious, and this seemed to be the theme of service there. After being seated at the worst table, we were made to wait for at least ten minutes before some drinks or even a menu was produced. The papads served to us were old and bad, and finally the menu was given. They had pomfret being served, but the mere mention of it sent him crazy, and we were told that they could not provide it to us. The one positive thing was that the vegetables were cooked nicely. This place was a huge disappointment to me.
Annabelle Wall
I had a good time here. The restaurant is big, airy and rather comfortable. They have some exciting , inventive dishes on their menu apart from the usual ones. In my opinion, the quality of the food was par excellence. The grill dishes come in many portions, with the medium rather big. My only hassle was the waiting time for the starters, however the time between the starters and the mains was just fine. I also found the beer to be sightly expensive and the restaurant in general too. However, I assume this is because of the location, the restaurant is placed in.
Jacob Walsh
Love place and a wonderful dining experience here. The food is really good, and is accompanied by some great service too. The staff is polite and friendly, the atmosphere is comfortable and cozy. The food was good value for money, affordable really. We enjoyed ourselves.
Aisha Barker
It offers really delicious Indian food. All of the dishes are very well-prepared and presented. The service is top notch and the menu is quite an extensive one though I must say there are other restaurants serving a great variety of food when you compare it to the variety being served here. Nevertheless, the food was of very good quality and I enjoyed every bit of it.
Skye Lloyd
An always full restaurant is a good judgement of how a restaurant might be. And this restaurant is just that. It is always packed with lots of Indians celebrating special occasions. The food is delicious and very authentic. A tough to find away from India. Being my absolute favourite, I often get home deliveries done from here.
Jessica Davies
This is one of the top class restaurant for having authentic Indian cuisine. On the plus side, servers were very efficient and attentive. They made sure our starters, mains and drinks all are get served in line. On the minus side, my gosht was just average lacking few flavors. Decor of the place was lovely and soothing.
Edward Whitehead
A Indian restaurant that serves mainly north Indian food.
The ambience is nice and the decor is well done.
However the staff seems stressed out and overworked.
The food was delicious but too oily to be appreciated for.
I shall not go back again.
My advice is for the staff to take a chill pill.
Jamie Williamson
This place is an absolute delight and I could not be more satisfied with it. The food offered here is the best food I have had and makes me want to return here multiple times and have it all over again, everything. The staff is extremely amicable, quick and offers very good recommendations. The atmosphere is perfect for a relaxed meal and I am so glad I found this place. Highly recommended to everyone!
Ashwin Deep
This place defines authenticity. It is one of the best Indian places I have eaten at in the neighbourhood. From strong flavours in the dal makhni to the robust spices in the lamb, everything was close to perfect. Do visit this place if you are craving for an Indian treat at reasonable prices!
Caitlin Wong
I had a great dinner here after a terribly long day. As we were not from this place, the host helped us decide a few things off the menu. The flavors of the food were great and the portions were big too. The dishes were full of aroma and very encapsulating.
Jay Dutt
I had Chicken tikka here and it was very good. The chicken was cooked properly but it was little more on a oily side. My partner had Tandoori prawns and according to her it was good.
This place is a sure visit if you like these types of dishes.
Kriti Sanket Jain
Its a nice place with modern design.Dining area is huge compared to other London restaurants.
The Samosas and Pani Puri were incredibly authentic but i was not happy with curries....all that they had was chilli! Getting good amount of chilli is not a sign of good indian food rather a decent and authentic indian food is the one which have a balanced blend of all the spices and the magic is that you should be able to smell the various spices present in one dish, each having its own identity.
Service was good rather excellent!
Cost is too high which comes up with a surcharge added!
Devika Lal
Having to repeatedly ask for a bottle of water and my masala chai, the service at Bombay Palace was far from exceptional. The food however was very good and the meal overall was enjoyable. My favorite dish has to be the Dhaal Makhni.
Overall, the food offered is authentic and traditional. You feel like you are in North India eating all the delicious spices India offers. Surprisingly, the meal was quite expensive given that no alcohol was ordered with the per person spend at £34.
Harshita Gupta
I have been to this restaurant thrice and the items on the menu are like treasures which you can't find in regular Indian restaurant or takeaway in U.K. the dishes are very authentic Indian and thus it makes my favourite eat in place in London. The portion sizes are designed for 2 people or even more in some cases. The best dishes for me was Schezuwan paneer and dal makhni. Every dish makes you feel that it is home cooked and even the price of the meal justifies what you pay for. I liked he food and restaurant but service is quiet slow.
Iman A.F. Al-Aulaqi
My favorite Indian restaurant in London, literally all the food here is good you can never go wrong regardless of what you order. The quality and food taste consistence they have is amazing I have first discovered it back in 2005 and now we're 2014 and it's still as good if not even better!

Butter chicken, butter naan, gajar halwa and churi!!!! Its a total foodgasm! Amazing service and phenomenal food! DO NOT MISS THIS.. This is coming from a Mumbai based person who is a food lover! This Dilli da chef @ Bombay Palace has out beaten the most amazing Indian restaurants even in Mumbai!! Hats off!

A great resturant but can be a little pricey but still in my view worth the money. Been twice so far and food has been consistently good.

What a find! It was another gloomy, London day and the building's grey exterior didn't loudly declare the basket of luxury within. But you venture inside and are met by an army of eager staff who lead you through into a slick, modern dining room.

I am sadly no expert in Indian cuisine, but speaking as a layman, it is always a pleasure to find a more experimental Indian restaurant. I left my Calcuttan dining companion in charge of ordering, deferring to her more proximal knowledge.

Although the dishes bore fundamentally Indian elements there was nothing in front of me I recognised (but old favourites are available). There were crispy pastries, sizzling hunks of meat, and milder creamy dishes but the most notable for me was the Palak Paneer, a very rich spinach dish with large pieces of cottage cheese stirred through.

We didn't manage to finish everything but not due to want of appetite, as everything was totally delicious. In the end we had to surrender to the portion sizes, which could have brought down a wildebeest.

The one drawback for me was the price of beer, which seemed to be set at the going rate in Scandinavia.

The food itself isn't cheap, but it's a higher end establishment with the service and quality to warrant the higher end cost of dining.

Fantastic location for the more profligate diner!

Sometimes, rarely, London surprises me with a delightful Indian meal and I step down from my usual judgmental throne and simply enjoy the experience. Bombay Palace was effortless on all accounts: service, food and atmosphere.

Our elaborate meal began with some Dahi Batata Puri, which was a decadent take on a regular Indian snack and what a treat it was! The unusual addition of some sliced strawberries made for a surprisingly tangy and sweet combination with the rest of this savoury cold appetizer. Next on the joyride was the Kheema Potli. This is a must-try if you are a fan of crazy flavours bursting inside your mouth for a fiesta of the senses. Quite simply, the dish is a microcosm of minced meat and peas inside a small crispy pastry which you simply bite into and absorb the experience quietly without conversation.

Our mains included Kashmiri Roganjosh, Kheema Hari Mirch and Palak Paneer. Firstly, their portion sizes are humungous so you can be rest assured that you will be leaving the restaurant bursting at the seams (that is if you can finish everything that was served to you) and probably will have to skip a few future meals if you know what’s good for you. The Kheema was the most authentic moist minced meat delight to be gulfed down with some rice and raita. The Palak Paneer (my personal vegetarian favourite) was similarly cooked to perfection, the thick strong spinach gravy overpowering the usual blandness of cottage cheese. The only dish that was slightly disappointing was the Roganjosh and mainly because it wasn’t as spicy as my threshold was looking forward to. The whole point of this dark red curry from Kashmir is to test your senses with its strong flavor of spices and character which was starkly missing from this dish. Nonetheless, I understand that the Chef made a conscious decision to mild-down the flavours for the London palate, it’s just that the colour of the dish (very authentic) did not match the subsequent flavour.

By the end of all this, we were full and happy and just wanted to jog home and sleep it off.

In a nutshell: Bombay Palace should be on top of your list if you are in the hunt for some authentic Indian cuisine with a comfortable degree of experimenting. This is one of those places you must visit irrespective of whether you are in the area or not. Also, don’t give the Starters a miss as it seems to be their strong-suit!

Went here just around a fortnight ago while on my trip across Europe. Decent place. Food didn't stand up but hold on that's partly cause of the fact we came on a holiday tour group so they only have so much budget to prepare for 40 odd guests. I must admit, I am writing this review just to add a global flair to my reviews. Dined here for two nights and it was decent. The waiters were swift and served Jain palates and veg and non-veg. I am considerate of the fact that they had a strict budget and I am weighing that in my rating.
Patches DeSouza
After reading about the recent awards the restaurant had won, decided to visit the restaurant on this visit to London. The Chef happened to be doing his round of the restaurant, friendly big guy and it ended with me allowing him to set the menu for my group. He did inform me that there was a new menu being introduced, and I told him to go for it, we joked if I did not like the food I would not pay the bill. This is one of the only Indian restaurants in London that sports an Indian menu along with an Indian - Chinese selection, something that is normal in Mumbai in some ways. Paneer Pepper Steak - never tasted a dish similar, Schezwan Paneer Sizzler - Hmmm, Murgh Tikka Makhani, Dal Makhani. The food and Chef were brilliant. The service efficient, warm and friendly. Pricing not cheap or expensive, but portions are large and could be shared. Ambiance, elegant with large windows and plenty of natural daylight. I would definitely be back and ask for the Chef.

Food served is good . A little steep with the prices . Decor and service is good .

Bombay Palace is a must go place for Indian food lovers in London. Right from the location to staff to service to (most importantly) food, it has got it spot on. As this restaurant thrives in other major cities around the world, it does justice to its global presence with merely the taste of its food.

Have tried the Chicken Kolhapuri + Dal Makhani + Mugh Kaleji Masala + Ragda Pattice + Babycorn Manchurian, though most of these are starters with only two main dishes, its enough to give a clear idea of what the menu is capable of.
Chicken Kolhapuri is quite delicious, its not too hot and should be tried with Naan. Murgh Kaleji is again nice and gives a tangy feel. The babycorn is nothing extraordinary to be honest, but it is not a disappointment too.

The two special items are Ragda Pattice and the Dal Makhani. Ragda Pattice basically transports you to Bombay and takes you on to the Chowpatty beaches (the Girgaon ones), it is extremely authentic and an absolute must have for starters. Dal makhani is the actual winner and takes the crown amongst all. It leaves you with no words and is quite capable to invite people on its own to Bombay Palace.

This place is a rare combination of a good balance between food and ambiance, service and staff for Indian food.
Jan Chakravarthy
This is one of the best Indian restaurants in London, imo!
Ragada Pattice and kebabs are perfectly executed starters and the Karahi paneer will change your life!
The restaurant was refurbed a year ago so is great for a nice evening out in the lovely Connaught square area.
The restaurant has a brilliant home delivery service and is my only go-to for Indian food!
