Great food, really great food... even for just one person! It wasn't a particularly busy Monday afternoon and I honestly came at the perfect time. I was literally the only customer there (other than two take away orders), naturally I had lowered my expectations. The food turned out to be so nicely cooked, delicious and big portioned! The bread was warm and fluffy, the hummus creamy and nicely seasoned. The star of the show was a simple lamb over rice. It was served hot and delectable. I had so much to eat and left happy, I am looking forward to my next visit.

The food was delicious!
The setting of this restaurant was beautiful! It felt you were in another country/on holiday!
The staff and service were lovely, friendly, and quick.
The bread they provide is freshly made and you will see this as you enter the restaurant, which was cool!
We ordered two mix grills and it was AMAZING! There was 7 of us and 2 mix grills were enough to share.
Overall, it was a wonderful place and worth it! I definitely recommend this place and I will be back again.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mahdi, a Persian restaurant, and it was truly a remarkable experience. The mix grill we ordered was outstanding, offering a tantalizing array of perfectly cooked meats that left us craving for more. The flavors were exquisite, and each bite was a delightful explosion of taste.
Not only was the food exceptional, but the staff, particularly Hamid, provided exceptional service. Hamid's warm and welcoming demeanor created a friendly and inviting atmosphere. He went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction throughout the evening, making us feel valued and appreciated.

Food and decor is very good, restaurant does not serve alcohol. Could not give 5 stars as they have no aircon. It was very stuffy inside and we were happy to leave for a breath of fresh air outside.
RB
The food was good and it came in a reasonable amount of time, and was of course halal. We went in the afternoon and there weren’t many people so it wasn’t too loud. The decor was very memorable and cultural which made the atmosphere pleasant. One thing I’d say is I hope they are able to accommodate vegan/dairy free customers in the future.
Michael Pozzi
We quite often celebrate family reunions here. I really like the decor. The food and service is also excellent. The fact that it is almost full with a good mix of folk proves this point universally.
Mahgol Maleki
Mahdi is one of the best Persian restaurant in London. The food was great as always and the staff are very friendly. Highly recommended.

Amazing food! Big portions, fast service, cozy atmosphere!
The food was super tasty, I definitely recommend the Chelo Morgh, which is grilled skewer of juicy marinated chicken, served with rice.
The bread is amazing, it is freshly made in a traditional oven.
Ana Pilar Rubio
This is my favourite Persian restaurant in London. The food is incredible, good portion and the flavours bring you to Iran in a heartbeat. Love their Tahchin and their Mirza ghassemi, they are a must!
Sweedh Ali Baramy
Good and traditional-looking interiors. Staffs were very attentive although I didn't like their attitude towards customers. But the food was served really quickly in like a couple of minutes though it was a busy weekday night. The food was good and the portion sizes were big. It's on the pricier end but still, I’ll recommend this place.
Carolina Monza
Amazing restaurant! We had a great time, the food was delicious and the dough is the best! Will for sure return soon.

Went with a few friends because it was one of the few places I could find that served tahdig. We ordered 6 items from the menu:
Crispy Rice & Stew (tahdig with ghorme) - ghormeh sabzi is one of my favourite dishes, so we thoroughly enjoyed this. Though compared to much of the tahdig I've had in my life, this one was somewhat soggy. Perhaps it had been sitting in the back for a while
Baba Ghanoush - classic starter and we ordered naan with it. This was somewhat forgettable and not worth the price
Dolma Felfel - very tasty and well done. Would order again
Shirazi Salad - very very flavourful. Nice reprive from meats.
Mix Grill for 3 - we ordered this for 4 people and there were still plenty of leftovers. Lamb chops were by far the best item on the platter, highly recommend.
Baklava - very forgettable and wouldn't recommend. The pastry was fairly soggy and they felt like they were pulled out of a box in the back. My preference is for a crispy exterior, showing freshness, care of the product, or both.
Conclusion: Very good value and it is easy to over order. Would certainly go back again for a small selection of dishes. Staff were moderately attentive but also not overbearing.

We enjoyed a lovely meal Friday evening, but were disappointed with the service and our seating although we booked the day before. We were in a corner with a great view of a vacuum left in the dining area and an open door to the service area, which was frequently left open allowing cold air inside. Service was patchy.
Shar mina
Loved the food and good portion size especially considering the price; we ordered minced kebab with saffron rice and lamb shank with green bean rice.

Great persian restaurant. Very nice vibes and Great Food, from top to bottom. We even ordered my cousins wedding dinner here. Very nice personal and amazing dough. My family and I dine here whenever we have company.
Poom Settha
Top notch 🔝 for both food and service.
We ordered naan bread with various grilled dishes (mine was aubergine and lentils with rice) and they were all super tasty. Each dish was large portion.
We shared a small pot of Persian tea between the three of us and it was more than enough.
A main each plus one dessert to share between the three of us was £22 each.
Highly recommended for family and an evening out with friends.
Damien Hewetson
Really nice Persian restaurant with a good selection of stews and grilled meats. We ordered the mixed grill for 3 people and it was delicious. The portion size was absolutely huge and the gravy on the side took it to the next level. I recommend trying the fresh naan bread as well, which comes with a tahini dip & chilli jam.

After living in Gulf for many years, I would love eating Persian food, but, to my bad luck, there are none even closer to the ones in Dubai.
.
We were guided to Mahdi Resturant by our cab driver and I simply could not bless him enough.
.
The food here was extremely delicious and served with great love and affection. The decor is all fine in Persian way.
.
Falooda Ice cream is highly recommended.
Mohammed.haboubi
Traditional Persian Resturant. Very good menu options. Nice people. Prices are average. Good size seating area. Easy to get to via bus and tube.
H.marzbani
The food is quite average. The service is not the best specially when busy. The best item is the bread which is cooked on premises and served fresh.
Mrmiah21
Food was great, staff wasn’t really friendly and seemed as though they don’t care. I didn’t really get a good vibe tbh, food was great but the service is poor. Sorry for my review by it’s what I felt
Sima Zandi
This is an upmarket and very chic restaurant. Pricey and excellent service and fusion Persian food. It's persian in style and attitude. Highly recommended
Vishal Kulkarni
A Persian restaurant. Most of the dishes which we have ordered was sweet taste. Ambiance was awsm. If you love Persian food then and then only go over there.
Amieamina
The quality and taste of food here is excellent! We ordered the mix grill for 2 people and it was presented perfectly and tasted fresh. This is my new go to Iranian restaurant- atmosphere is nice and cosy and food is great.
Kombizz Kashani
For sure lots of improvements has happened since I visited this Persian Restaurant in winter 2016.

I saw beautiful decoration with white table cloth and long red termeh on each table. This time I met the handsome owner Mr Mehdi Rahimi who was in the background and managing the smooth running of a very busy restaurant.

The food was excellent and delicious. In comparison with other Persian Restaurant that I have visited this year, I found the food & service of this place to be excellent.

Value for money. . 3
Quality. . . . . . . . . . 3
Taste. . . . . . . . . . . 3
Ambience. . . . . . . 1
Portion size. . . . . 4
Service. . . . . . . . . 1

Would I recommend - no
Would I go back - no

Overall for Persian food it was average. The big downer was the service staff were disinterested and bemused (although the food did come promptly).

Wasn't happy about being offered a discount if I paid in cash (essentially knocking of the service charge - but I declined and paid by card).
Mayochup
As a treat, Mrs Mayochup took me to a Persian restaurant where she and a friend had been to before for linner (the time between lunch and dinner). The outside didn't look like much however, once you're inside and sat down, you could almost feel that you are on holiday in Iran. We didn't have a reservation and I didn't think that would be a problem as, being 4pm, it should be empty. Well, there was more people in there than I expected and after eating, I could see why.
Inass Elfaddi
The food was good however the service was disgusting, the workers would not stop talking about us and making us feel uncomfortable and unwanted. I had a 2 year old with me crying and they were constantly rolling their eyes and complaining. I would not recommend as their service did not deserve my money. They also made me walk to the cash point heavily pregnant because they apparently do not take card, however they allowed the posh guy next to me to pay by card. The girls would give me dirty horrible looks as if I have done something to her. I left the restaurant feeling very upset and uncomfortable. They were rushing us off the table so they can seat another family that had just walked in.
Nazia Jawwad
Great vibe, great food and lovely decor. I knew I was in for a treat the moment I saw the place, it was a saturday night and the place was absolutely packed with a zillion people many of whom were also celebrating their birthdays. With cakes being cut and birthday songs being sung, it was a festive atmosphere.

We called for a Mixed Grill platter that had decent portions of boneless and bone-in pieces of meat served with the authentic saffron rice. It tasted delicious with the kebabs being tender and juicy with a selection of chicken, lamb and minced meat.

For the desserts we called for Zulbia & Bamiyan - a traditional Persian sweet similar to the Arabic sweets like baklava and jelabi. I guess they would taste better if served hot. We also called for a Faloudeh which has frozen starch noodles with rose water and lemon. I guess one has to develop a taste for this as the noodles are not very sweet and the taste of lemon is strong.

This place is a sure not to miss when in London.

1. Khoresht Fesenjan (Chicken Breasts) - Chicken breasts OR lamb shanks, fried mashed walnuts cooked in special sauce, served with saffron rice. Price: 10.90 GBP.

2. Split yellow peas, fried aubergine & whole dried lime cooked in a special tomato sauce garnished & fried potato, served with saffron rice. Price: 7,50 GBP.

One, ok two pictures are worth a thousand words.

Easily the best Iranian food out there. You cannot go wrong with Mahdis. Delicious meat, great rice and amazing quantity for how much you pay! One of my favourite restaurants! Have only tried their grill menu not the stews, but thats because I would only ever have grilled meat at an Iranian restaurant.
Countryaddict2049
We have been eating in this local Restaurant for years, it can get very busy, but the waiters do a great job and never keep you waiting for long, a sign of a good restaurant, no alcholol is served, I suggest you have a drink first and enjoy the delicious food after.
Naziah Hakimi
My dad recommended this restaurant to me for a friend's birthday. Overall I was not very pleased with the restaurant at all. The food was very basic for me and not only that, the food they served me was not warm. The staff behaviour was ok and the restaurant itself has a really nice vibe but the food quality overall was very poor. I would not go there again.
Aisha Tariq
Great Iranian food. I've been here once before. In my second visit (which was quite recent), we ordered hummus and mixed grill which serves 3 people. Instead, we got the one which serves 2 and that proved to be a lucky mistake as we were (4 adults, 2 children) not very hungry. The kebabs and the chicken pieces were extremely flavourful and juicy. The lamb chops were nice but not as good as the aforementioned. The rice was superb and tasted wonderfully with the yogurt tahini.

Early evening hours are extremely busy. Late nights are relatively empty.
Prince Gastronome
Prince Gastronome. On our way back from Dover, the three of us stopped by the Battle of Britain Memorial. Dave stressed the importance of this location beyond its obvious commemorative significance. The expansion of landscaped green extends right to the white cliffs. You could walk for miles if you wished, all the way back to Dover Castle. The gate is neither locked nor guarded and despite being past 6:00, it still welcomed all comers. The first things that caught our attention were the replica Hawker Hurricane and the Supermarine Spitfire. Passing by the monument wall, we glanced briefly over the 3000+ names of pilots that flew during that period over 70 years ago. The other point of interest at the monument was the large white brick propeller feature 60 meters across which can only truly be appreciated from the sky. Fitting. It was here, at the edges of the monument, overlooking the cliffs, where I wanted to just sit and admire a level of visual and aural stimulation slotted above all others requiring clothes (take the statement as metaphor and get your heads out of the gutter).

Alas, it was not meant to be. Night was close to falling and we were hungry. There was still a considerable drive ahead of us. My mother and I asked Dave to recommend a place to eat. The only requirements were that Dave had to accept that we were paying, and it had to be a place he enjoyed. The final condition was that it had to be to be a cuisine we hadn't yet had. With Chinese, Indian, Lebanese, and English already taken, it was up to Dave to think up something new. That took all about ten seconds, though it was another hour before we found it.

In a region of London known awesomely as Hammersmith, Dave brought us to a well known but modest local restaurant, Mahdi. It was Persian, and I know some people will accuse me be being insensitive or arrogant by claiming its resemblance to the Lebanese food enjoyed on our first day at Nana's, but let's cut through the ethnic pride; it's pretty damn close. Having stuck my neck out with that comment, let me wind it back it by saying the restaurant in almost every other regard stood out as completely unique.

Firstly, I didn't think this was a restaurant when we walked in. With the flood of cheering, clapping and carousing, I feared we just crashed the dinner of an extended Iranian family that mistakenly left their doors open. There was nothing sedate about Mahdi. Everything from the placement of the tables to the menu was uncompromising. We had to wiggle our way to the table. I had to squeeze my way to the coffin-like bathroom. We had to shout over the revelry of the entire establishment. Few people spoke English, and I honestly think they only added the planetary lingua franca to the menu out of pressure and not preference.

Is any of what you're reading criticism of the Mahdi Restaurant? Not in the slightest; it's the more reason to love it. This is what I appreciated the most about England: the fact that you can enter a restaurant and get the impression you just stepped through a Seth Brundle Telepod to another country. With that, you must tolerate tacky plastic table covers, gaudy yellow wallpaper, and rather uncomfortable chairs.

Dave recommended the tea, something he didn't need to do. It arrived in an ornate tea kettle over a matching candle heater. I had never seen a restaurant do that before (though I would see it one more time during the trip).

On impulse, I ordered naan bread and hummus. You just do that if you go into any restaurant themed between Greece and Bangladesh. For the first time, I encountered a distinct variation on naan. Mahdi's were thinner with a generous layer of sesame seeds, something I've already replicated at home. The hummus was perfect, and not served in a dinky little teacup, but spread over a saucer and topped with olives and saffron. I also ordered what I thought was a dip made from green onion, spinach, turnips and olives. As it turned out, it was just a plate of raw vegetables...my fault there, I guess.

As for the mains, Dave and I ordered the Chelov Kabab Koubideh (so happy I took a photo of the menu), which was a skewer of tender baby lamb along with one skewer of minced baby chicken, served with grilled tomatoes and rice. Don't judge us too harshly; EVERY dish was made from baby animals. Vegans, you have been warned; Mahdi is your antichrist. My mother broke from the table trend and ordered Lubia Polo, green beans, mixed spices and saffron cooked with rice and served with a portion of lamb chunks. Mahdi is not for the faint of heart.

The cooking was almost violent, pulled from clay ovens and seared feet from our tables. Chefs reached over each other, driving skewers into barbecues and carving meat from rotating spits mounted behind windows at the entrance. I don't think the restaurant was showing off; they probably had no other place to put them. I wished I had photos showing my Mom's reaction when the food was served. Our amazement probably matched that of the filmmakers in Boogie Nights when they first saw Marky Mark's impressive attribute. The metaphor goes deep...damn, that was not the right wording. I meant the skewers were...well, you get the idea, and they were huge, nearly 13 inches each (told you). If that wasn't enough, the rice and salad "side" could have/should have been on separate bowls. The plate was 16 inches across (I measured) and it was stacked with food. And my mother's was even more intimidating, the same size with depth to hold at least six cups of rice. We didn't order one meal; we ordered the next three. Why did we get the naan bread? Who are the people on the planet that can eat this much food in one sitting...well, okay, Americans. Our tacky plastic-topped table was filled with food, with a tea kettle, bread basket, hummus bowl, cream decanter, and spices with plates that could be used as shields in case the restaurant was attacked.

Yeah, I guess you could call that good value. Take-away bags are assumed and our food was shoveled away for later enjoyment. I felt close to crapping out a person-of-interest...

...okay, even I thought that was inappropriate...

I easily understood Dave's appreciation of this place. The value was beyond understanding... quite literally, how they make any money with this level of food I may never know. The bill for three people was barely 50 quid, and with that you eat like a khan with enough to spare for your harem when you return. If you happen to be in Hammersmith someday in the future, you would be stupid not stop in Mahdi.

Food: 5/5
Service: 3/5
Presentation: 4/5
Value: 8/5
Recommendation: 5/5

MAHDI RESTAURANT
217 King Street, Hammersmith
London, Greater London W6 9JT
020 8563 7007

With that, we returned home, past 10:00 in the evening. Dave rocketed down the M1 like the cameras from Top Gear were behind him. The best day thus far.
We never had the leftovers.
Thea
Excellent value. Great food for exceptional value - will definitely return even though it's the wrong side of town for me.
Connie
I love this place. It always hits the spot when you are really hungry as the portions are huge! Definitely try the freshly baked bread with the variety of yummy dips. I'm feeling hungry again just thinking about it!
Izy
I love this resturant! The food great, the service is fast and friendly. Make sure you try the fresh, clay oven bread.

Mahdi, a gift from heaven .... This is my favourite restaurant in London.
I've been eating there since we first moved to London over 6 years ago now.
The food is good, well cooked, flavourful, cheap. The service is warm and friendly, as you would expect from a family run restaurant.
The best Persian restaurant in London.
Food And Drinks Noob
The nan bread was decent at best but the yoghurt was very underwhelming, lack of fresh flavours from the lemon and garlic, I suspect it was pre done rather then freshly make on the day. To the main courses, I ordered Chelov kebab barg makhsoos...
Mzungu
I was a little apprehensive to return to Mahdi, mainly because of all the places I had eaten at before and revisited recently, they have all let me down. Badly. What if Mahdi was to do the same to me. What if it had changed. What if had gone downhill. Wha
Arwa
Nice authentic environment with a lot of cultural backgrounds and food. Definitely not a sophisticated place.. It's got a more urban feel to it I don't know but the food is 'nice' not the best but 'nice' and just 'nice'
Antoine Lefebvre
Amazing Persian food with huge portion. Just ask for a doggy bag if you can't finish. The mixed grill and the okras are superb! They also make their own bread so it comes out warm!
Esha Bhivandker
A friend insisted hence visited this place.
Overall I did not like the place nor the food.
The place is too crowded and cramped. Too noisy, staff isn't cordial nor friendly.
They are a little mean.
When I went there they had two family gatherings with small children who were crying throughout our stay there. This did not let us eat peacefully. It was very disturbing. The chicken curry was badly made ordered rice and curry didn't have it after a bite.
2 good things were the Persian tea and the Eran.
Amy Dobson
This is a decent Persian restaurant. The food is delicious. The portions are gigantic. the service is pot on. the prices are steep but worth it. The rice and the lamb was delectable and sumptuous. The staff could not have been friendlier. Totally recommended. The biryani is a must try.
Martha Foster
I am a big fan of this Persian restaurant. The food is delectable and sumptuous. The service is spot on. the servers are friendly and attentive. the portions are gigantic. The food is a great deal for money. It is full of flavors and speaks volume about the competence of the chef.
Jatin Devan
It was just my first visit at the restaurant and I am impressed. The food was delicious and sumptuous. The cumin yogurt was a treat for the taste buds. The service is efficient. The staff is not particularly friendly though. They serve and they leave and that's that about it.
Rhys Dodd
I cannot praise this Persian restaurant enough. Everything we tried from soup to starter to main course was delectable and sumptuous. the chicken was so soft and juicy, we had a great meal. The basket of breads is fresh and savory. The prices are also reasonable. the sitting is intimate.
Noah Payne
The restaurant serves amazing Persian food. The food is delectable and sumptuous. The service is spot on. The prices are also reasonable and for these gigantic portions, they are a steal. the food is a great value for money. The ambiance is cool and the sitting is intimate. Totally recommended.
Charles Harding
The food served here is delicious. It is fresh and well prepared in a way that you can tell the difference. The evening didn't count for a pleasant experience as it was interrupted by the staff making intrusive comments about the guests there. my husband and i will not be coming back again.
Cameron Stephenson
An amazing Indian restaurant in the neighborhood. The naans and the curries are delectable and sumptuous. the butter rice was outstanding. I am a little worried about the all the calories that i had consumed though. The service is swift and the prices are also reasonable. A good deal for money.
Louie Shah
This is a perfect restaurant which serves authentic Persian food, which was recommended to me by one of my friends who has been visiting here with her mother for over a decade now. You should know that this restaurant doesn't serve booze, so prepare yourself for some great food served with is lots of cardamom tea.
Harley Stokes
I understand and am a huge fan of Persian food but this restaurant is majorly disappointing. The food is pathetic, it is edible at best. the service is just satisfactory. The prices are ludicrous. The meat was not cooked well and had a leathery feel about it. Not recommended at all.
Erin Birch
If you are looking for some lip smacking Persian food, then this is the place to be. I would recommend you to try their mirza ghasemi which is a dip made of tomatoes and aubergine, their flat bread called noon and chelo kebab consisting of minced lamb with rice. Highly recommended!
Anish Ganesan
I have been t many better Persian restaurants before and this one gives a bad name to all of them in general. there are so many things that do not work right here. The food tasted bad. The meat was leathery and did not taste edible at all. the staff was unaccommodating and rude.
Adam Hayes
Ever since I visited this place for the first time, I have been a regular at this place. The menu is very limited but it works for me. The pricing as compared to the food joints in the same vicinity is pretty low and reasonable. They have an amazing variety of beverages. Recommended.
Caleb Bolton
I love this Persian restaurant and cannot recommend it enough. The food is delectable and sumptuous. the skewers are perfect and melt into your mouth instantly. The staff is friendly and the service is spot on. The portions are gigantic and the food is a great deal for money. The drinks are also very good.
Beatrice Fisher
This is a lovely place if you want to eat some good food that is dirt cheap . Everything is fresh , the breads are amazing and there is a good selection of dips too . The portions are big , and end to fill you up really fast . A must visit for everyone .
Samuel Sharp
I have been a regular at this Persian place for quite a few years now. The food is excellent and is cooked to perfection. The service is pretty quick and efficient with the staff being quite warm and friendly. As this one is a family run venture, It has an authentic feel to it which I enjoyed. I would love to visit this place again.
Elliot Henderson
I did not expect to have a great time here since I was returning here after quite a long time. I was scared that the quality must have decreased after such a long time like all the others. However, I was mistaken. This place is same as it was. The atmosphere is relaxing and the staff very efficient and amicable. The food is absolutely delightful! Definitely recommended!
Christopher Todd
This Pakistani restaurant in London does its best to disappoint in terms of food. The yogurt was not edible with the rest of the dishes just edible. The main course was not appetizing. The food seemed stale and was just microwaved before serving. The prices are steep and the staff is rather obnoxious.
James Stewart
This is my favourite place in the whole of the city. They have generously large portions, and for the money at which they are offering it, they are huge. I have been coming here for several years now, and I have brought all kinds of friends and family, and none of them has ever been disappointed. Some people do complain about the service at times, but I have never witnessed anything disappointing. There can often be a long wait, but it is definitely worth it. It is also cheap, and I love coming here.
Nathan Nelson
It is one of the best places that I have ever visited. The food was absolutely delicious and the prices charged for it were quite modest. I am actually wondering how they are even able to make it but trust me, they are doing it in style. I would strongly recommend you to try this place some time.
Zachary Morton
This is a nice place to eat at. I frequently come here and find it to be really good value for money. The food tastes amazing, and the portions are very generous and huge. The waiters are also friendly and cheerful, and this restaurant has a really nice vibe overall.
Harry Fletcher
This place was such a disappointment ,even more because we had taken some guests for a treat. The service here is nothing but pathetic. They were not at all attentive and took a long time to deliver our order.Even after that , the food was brought in after a delay of approximately and hour and even then it was a wrong order. The quality of food is deplorable and the kebabs we had were not cooked properly and was still raw!
Never going back!
Leah Begum
I went to this place on the New years eve last year and had a really disappointing experience. The chicken we ordered was uncooked and raw in the middle. When we complained to the waiter, we were told that it was the only way that they cooked all kinds of meat, even the lamb. When we asked him for a replacement of the order and to get a properly cooked meal, we were refused of that. I would suggest everyone to avoid this restaurant as there are better and friendlier places out there.
Jessica Davies
Even though the service of this place is really shoddy, the food is tasty and cooked to perfection. One does not mind the inefficient service staff as long as the food is delectable.
I have been visiting this place regularly ow for over five years and can surely vouch for its credibility.
Do try the jasmine tea as it helps you savour the delicious food in a more alluring way!
Shruti Shetty
This Persian restaurant is average in terms of the atmosphere , service and food . The food is not exceptional but there are some dishes that are really tasty . It is very reasonable and the food is fresh . I like the freshly made naan bread in the stone oven and the kebabs made from lamb.Their rice dishes are good too .
A decent middle eastern eat in for a good price .
Annabelle
Mahdi Restaurant is a local favourite with absolutely huge portions of delicious Persian cuisine.

I would heartily recommend their lunchtime buffet, which at just a little over £8 is fantastic value. The service at the restaurant is always so efficient and friendly. The atmosphere is fantastic and the staff are always happy to give recommendations. They don't serve alcohol but the food and ambiance are so good that it doesn't matter!

If you fancy something a little different but full of flavour, then Mahdi Restaurant is the place to go!
Mehreen
Mahdi's traditional Persian interior gives it a homely feel for all its customers. On all my visits the food has been well prepared and true to it's Persian roots. There is a large selection to choose from on the menu including their amazing starters. The platters are large enough to share among a group (of 4) and great value.

The service has always been helpful and attentive. The waiters were happy to change anything which I wasn't pleased with which was nice. I've returned here twice since my first visit, so this must say a lot about what I think of the place! I would certainly recommend coming here if you're searching for a Persian cuisine.
Jaz Singh
Mahdi is an authentic Persian restaurant based in Hammersmith. Just like its food the surroundings and decor is completely Persian/Middle Eastern. They have Persian rugs and lamps which make you feel like you are in the Middle East.

Great price for great food! The portion of food is unbelievable, and taste of the food is terrific. One can tell it is cooked with best of Middle Eastern flavours due to the aroma. I ordered the chicken and lamb kebabs served with a large portion of rice and salad. The food layout was quite amazing and the best I tried I could not finish my plate.

The customer service was warm and polite and if you are eager to find out what Middle Eastern food tastes like, I highly recommended Mahdi to you!

If you’re looking for a halal, authentic Persian restaurant situated at a 5 min walking distance from Hammersmith Station, then Mahdi is the place to go. It is a medium sized restaurant always busy due to its popularity and high quality of food and is a perfect place to take someone on a date or family for a special meal. The restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere decorated with Persian rug styled seats, and tables and colourful lamps.

On entering the restaurant I was welcomed by the waiters and given a table to sit at and was greeted by every member of staff that I walked past. I was presented with the menu which had a great selection of main and starters with a mixture of meat and vegetarian dishes served with rice or Persian bread.

The restaurant is always filled with a delicious aroma of their food making you feel irresistible. The food arrives fairly quickly. On many occasions I have been given free starters which help keeps my mind off the main order.

Since I’ve discovered Mahdi, it has become one of my favourite restaurants which I visit once every 2 months. My personal favourite dishes are the grilled meat dishes and the chelov kebab, served on a bed of rice and grilled tomatoes. Their succulent kebabs are served with a variety of dips such as creamy yoghurt and chilli sauce and is the main reason why I returned.

In comparison to other Persian restaurants I’ve been to, Mahdi has stood out to me as the portion sizes are huge and are at a reasonable price. They tend to add 10% service charge to the bill at the end but are willing to remove it on large orders if you pay by cash instead of card.

I would definitely recommend Mahdi to everyone.
